Are you Double Collar or Collar+NoCollar

Are you a Double Collar or a Collar-NoCollar fan? I'm hoping to up my game for Zoom meetings. Do you prefer a collared shirt under a collared jacket? Or collarless blouse/t-shirt under a collared jacket? What does the vibe say to you, when you choose your look?

I've looked through WIWs and you all look gorgeous, either way.

I'm kind of feeling like the collar/no collar look is bit approachable, and the collar + collar is a bit more formal. Your thoughts?

I"m old fashioned and think a collar is the easiest way to add authority.

I only like collar plus collar when the look is casual (think button down plus denim jacket). I also don't do the current trend of buttoning shirts all the way up to the top like that, so take it with a grain of salt. Double collar is definitely a more formal look.

I tend to go for collar with a no-collar base, it just feels less fussy to me, and I don’t have to worry about whether the base collars are crooked or tucked funny. I also have the option of adding a necklace to finish the outfit.

In my opinion, whether one of them is more formal than the other, does not depend on the amount of collars, but rather on the fabric and style of the items.

I don't wear a lot of collars and struggle to wear them under a blazer. But I am short of neck and big of hair!!

I find the no collar under collar easier but will go the other way if I am in the mood. For Zoom I would tend toward a more uncluttered look.

It's been a while since I wore a collared shirt. Usually if I wear a jacket or blazer I layer it over either a crewneck top or a poloneck sweater.

Either a jewel- or draped-neck top under a blazer for me. Or a silky fabric with bow. Collared shirts are fine with me, but don’t seem to sit correctly under a blazer (bunching, etc) - too fussy feeling.

Both can be lovely but maybe for Zoom no collar would require less adjusting and you might be more at ease

I almost always do no-collar under, because if there are 2 collars I feel like they may “fight”. I don’t own many collared shirts anyway.

Uncollared top + uncollared topper for my everyday 'smart casual' Zoom meetings (sometimes with a necklace or scarf).

Uncollared top + collared* topper (or a just *collared shirt alone) is my preferred middle ground for Zoom meetings/ classes where I know the focus will be on me.

Collared top + collared topper is only for interviews/ formal presentations etc.

* That said, I don't wear traditional western collars (pointy ends), so my 'collared' styles are shawl collars rather than sharp lapels.

I probably prefer the look of collar + collar, but find collar + no-collar more comfortable. They’re different moods and I think body type makes a difference.

i think #1 looks too fussy for a zoom call, but YMMV
for me, unless you are actually taking zoom calls form your office they require a more relaxed vibe. but than most of my zoom/team calls are with people wearing hoodies, so there's that

Both! I only have one blazer style topper, but wear both collared shirts, and collarless sweaters and t-shirts under it. I also have collarless toppers that I wear with a variety of tops underneath. The trickiest collared topper is my jean jacket. I prefer collarless sweaters and t-shirts under it.

I feel to stuffy in a collared blazer with a collared shirt. I love uncollated shirt or tee under -- and for me it needs to be a crew neck (not a v)

I'm strictly camera off on Zoom, but collar + no collar for me too. I'm never sure what to do with shirt collars- lay them on top of the jacket, or tuck them under. I'm never happy with them either way. Plus a button up with a jacket seems ALGO on my short torso.

I definitely did collared + collared for interviews when I was fresh out of college as I felt it made it look more like I understood how to dress professionally. Once I hit my late 20s and 30s I moved to no collared shirt under collared.
