Are you different shapes from different views? ETA..

Thanks to Anne for the link explaining the 'round/deep and ellipitical' side views....Are you 'way' different looking from the front to side view? To my eyes, I look like a slight hourglass from the front, but a bulging apple shape from the side....also, which shape do you mainly dress for??

Oh, yeah. I am hourglass with slight pear from the front. Much more straight up and down from the side view. As a teen, I could squeeze between the iron bars of the fence at school when I turned sideways. Straight, straight, straight.

Oh my yes. Hourglass/pear from the front/back, but from the side I look quite straight and slim except for the chest. I have a relatively flat tummy and no booty.

Hmmm... I'm not sure. I'd guess hourglass from front, apple with pooch from side. I dress for the apple. I am always trying to disguise the belly.

I have always wondered if you could be different shapes from different angles lol. I have pretty much known I am a pear all my life, but when you look from the side I feel more 'hourglass'! I don't feel like that changes the fact that I have to dress like a pear, though :/.

I suppose the main difference is that the side view takes shoulders out of the equation, while adding tummies, bottoms and busts to it. So while I have mild pear leanings from the front because of my shoulders. I definitely look bottom heavy when viewed from the side. And even my frame (eg around my rib cage, where there is not much muscle or fat, just goes back a long way (my underbust measurment is 30 inches).

We have discussed this before on the forum. I'll see if I can drag up a link. I think Angie said not to worry too much about the side view!

Mo, I was the same way. We would play hide and seek and I could squeeze between a fence post and house right across from the home base. I think it was only 3" of space. From the front I look wide but when I am not carrying 5-10 extra lbs, I am very shallow from the side.

To me that is the easiest way to differentiate between the more traditional hourglass and the longer version Trinny & Susannah call the vase.

I'm an IT from the font (and back) and an apple from the side. The apple shape is further complicated by a sway back and something strange about the shape/placement of my bottom. I dress for the apple...and the bottom. I'm very concious of this when trying on clothes, because what looks great from the front can be disaster from the side.

I just saw the ETA, so I'll add that I dress to suit my front/back view which is hourglass/pear. I do pay attention to the side view, which is why I generally don't wear ruffly things on my chest that make it appear even bigger, and I do sometimes wear jeans with flaps on the back pockets, which give my little behind a bit more presence.

I am pretty much concerned about my side shape, too. It do matters a lot!
(I always check my clothes from side and rear view too)
As I look a pretty acceptable hourglass (Ithink)from the front but I have a good bossom and unfortunately a small tummy plus almost no bumm from the side made worst sometimes of my shoulder's bad posture(when forgot about myself):-((.
I hate my side view, but that's it:-((unless working much harder for loosing some weight and getting in shape I guess)
But, LOL! This is why I take my picties from the front when post wiw in the forum!:-))

IT from the front, apple from the side. I am more narrow from the front view than sideways generally.
