Are white skinnies for me?

I am pretty sure I'm not going to keep my white Gap bootcuts. I'm just not a bootcut kind of gal, except for my Joe's when I need a bootcut look. I bought them back when everyone here was rocking them and I had a much harder time recognizing my own style preferences.

However, I am picturing a lot of my tops with white jegging/skinnies and ankle boots, since skinnies and tunics or blazers has become one of my go-to looks. I will not wear white on top, but could certainly wear them as a bottom half.

If yay, any suggestions for brands? I'd like a fit like the Gap leans, if possible, though not as tight since they'd be white...

Yes, white skinnies are for everyone!! Mine are the Old Navy Rock Star Jeggings recommended by Rita. Word of warning, they run pretty small and they also shrink, so size up.

Anna, why not? That's how I feel about the bootcuts, but I am feeling like white bottoms of some kind are a wardrobe hole for me. Am I wrong?

I wear my white straight legs quite a bit - even in winter weather. They are all season pants for me. They are so easy to pair any bright top with - foolproof, really.

I'm not sure. I haven't gotten rid of them. But part of it maybe the fact that only if you're lucky do get two wearings out of them before you have to wash them. I guess I'm just not feeling them. I'm having trouble picturing myself in them currently. Sorry for such a vague answer. As always I'm the outlier in this.

I hate to say this, but white jeans are for 'vacation' only. It's just reality when you live with a giant black labrador retriever.

I love the look of them, and I think white skinnies will look great on you. Mine don't get worn (I don't have them in skinnies, I think I have a pair of straight legs somewhere around), but I do take them on vacation if seasonally/weather appropriate. I enjoy them then, and do not have to worry about black dog hair, muddy paws, or what have you. I actually pack them in a separate bag inside my suitcase, to keep them nice and clean.

Good point, VC! Fortunately my dog is white! (and ruins most of my wardrobe with her furry shedding). I am looking for ways to amp up my short-lived summer capsule and get the most bang for my buck. Shorts and light skirts are not big options as I run cold and so does the summer weather. Hmmm.... must ponder. Of course, by the time I find something that fits, summer may be over!

I have been wearing my white levi demi-curve straight leg jeans a lot and like Mo I love pairing them with bright colors. I am lucky that furbaby is predominantly white so his hair doesn't show. AG you look awesome in your skinnies and I think you could really rock the ones that Inge posted the link to.

My white skinnies make me feel like I'm wearing longjohns. DH likes them on me, but I only wore them once so far... if you decide they are for you, I will be tuning in for outfit inspiration!

Oooh....being in a slightly cooler climate, even in summer, and having a white doggie...the stars are aligning - you must get white skinnies!

Don't forget, I think that white jeans can look fab even in non-summer months, paired with the right items.

I don't have any particular recommendation because I haven't been looking for white denim lately, but I really like the way they look, and now that you've mentioned that you're often on the cold side even in summer - white skinnies will be *perfect* for your wardrobe.

PS- I will buy your white bootlegs off of you. I think we are the same size. I have to keep white jeans on my list permenantly as long as I am wearing them. They are a disposable type item for me because they stain so fast.

Have you tried them with a denim short or your equiptment blouse? Boy's Target Gingham shirt? Green blazer? I thought I would hate mine but they are getting a serious work out this year. CPW on my $10 ebay'd bootlegs is down to $1 or less....

I'm not touching white skinnies with a 10 foot pole, but you could definitely rock them Una! I'm still on the lookout for the perfect white boot cuts or straight legs.

If skinnies is your go-to formula them why not white ones? You would rock them and you have so many bright tops, they will blend into your wardrobe splendidly!

I think white skinnies would work on you Una. I bought white straight legs recently with a view to pairing them predominantly black however each time I have slipped them on, I have them slipped them off lol. I think I may just have to make the adjustment to white bottoms I am also concerned about them getting dirty!!!

Una, I have a pair of white bootcuts that I'm going to have the tailor turn into something in between a skinny and a straightleg (inspiration pics below, which I have trotted out on several previous white jeans threads :). I like the idea of white jeans that aren't skin tight, but also aren't bootcuts. They are juuuuust right, and slightly slouchy (at least that's what I'm going for...).

So, could you have your tailor turn your bootcuts into straights or skinnies? Might be worth a shot, especially if they fit well.

Una, I got the JCrew high-rise skinnies in white, and they are not skin-tight - they fit more like Jonesy's pics above, although I did size up. I like them a lot. I love my white bootcuts, too. I guess I'm a white jeans gal. But I could see you in them in summer as well - perfect for those long summer evenings!

I kept trying on white skinnies but decided that my thighs are just too big in comparison to the rest of me. That's the reason I don't own a pair of skinnies in any color. The closest I have are dark denim straight legs cut like the ones in Jonesy's inspiration photos. I just bought white bootcuts - the first white pants I've worn in ... maybe ever! I love them. I like the way they look with my peeptoe wedge shooties, or colorful ballet flats.

Another vote for JCrew. I have the white matchsticks in my regular size. They're close when I put them on but stretch out quickly (but not too much) to fit like Jonesy's pictures. I love them.

I like the Jag straight legs I got at Nordies, now on sale online at the Rack for much less in a P4. My tags are still on (as I have been looking for a cheaper pair) but they are a P2. They run fairly big. I'm not crazy about the pocket flap, tho'.

I say go for white skinnies! I've got a pair of white boyfriend jeans and I love love LOVE them! (although I must confess, haven't worn them in aaages with a 2yr old running around lolol)
