Are these white jeans too high rise for me?

I'm on the search for some white jeans. Tried white clamdiggers and I'm not really a fan...I feel the extra length in jeans will make them more versatile since I can roll/cuff them too as I often do :-p

A few challenges I have faced: clinginess (since white shows up every clingy place), see-through-ness (pockets and undies show through thinner fabrics) and cut (skinny ones are just not flattering on me due to the clinginess issue mentioned above).

I tried on these Sportscraft ones in Myer today. I have some money left on a Myer giftcard and they're $50 off at the mo so these would end up costing about $55 all up.

They're a much higher rise than I normally go for being a hipster girl at heart. I feel they fit well around my bum and the fabric is substantial enough not to be see through. But the rise bothers me - does it magnify all the wrong bits? Do my thighs and hips look huge? Can I tuck and belt, or will I really need to wear them with untucked tops?

Do be brutally honest, I can take it ;-P

These seem to fit you really great in the waist and hip area, but not so great in the thighs, where they look a little bit tight. The rise doesn't strike me at all as being too high on you, but you have to feel hip and good wearing them.

Hm, I'm not sure. You look so smashing in all the skinnies and jeans and pants I've seen you in, but I think there's something that seems off about these ~ and I'm not exactly sure what that is.

A pair of white jeans is high on my list too, but finding the right ones is hard. Actually, I'm pretty sure I found them, only to have them be sold out in my size everywhere. Oh well, there's always next spring for me.

I think the fit is a little off. I think the rise would be ok if you weren't going to tuck in. But I think they're a bit too tight in the other areas. Do they have any stretch to them? I would probably pass. You have a great shape and they don't do you justice.

Tara, I think they are a bit snug in the thighs and don't do your figure the justice you deserve. Maybe a size up would work?

I still haven't found the perfect white jeans and have been looking for a LONG time!

Hmm Tara these are getting close, but I don't think they are the magic pair. For a start they seem too short on you, don't they? Keep on lookin!!!!

Thanks for the input girls. They do have stretch, and a size up would be too roomy in the waist. I discovered this morning when I weighed myself for the first time in months that I have put on about 5 kilos and it seems to have gone to my thighs and hips! I am now at that awkard in between size. Not a 10 (US6) but not a 12 either (US8).

I think I'll wait til I lose that bit of weight before I try and buy any more fitted pants. Meanwhile I think I'll count these out

ahhh...i see you're giving these a pass. my issue was also with the length. that troubled my eye more than the fit bc i thought they looked fine with your shirt out.

I don't care for these, the high rise makes them pucker around the upper thigh area. I found for my white jeans, I had to go up one size, get a not too stretch in the material jean, and get a heavier weight denim to eliminate the see throughness and the pulling. Lighter color bottoms showcase everything so they are a challenge to find.

I find white tricky and honestly, sized up for my pair of white jeans. I think for some reason sometimes the white and black denims don't stretch as much as traditional blue jeans either. For instance I have the exact same brand Miss Me and the blue are one size smaller than the white and fit exactly the same.

I think that you should pass on these Tara. Have you tried photographing yourself in the Esprit pants for comparison? I really liked those on you!

I think if you aren't 10000% happy then pass - and I know that size issue soooo well! I still can't believe I couldn't do the 29's up in those jeans I tried on, but the 30's were a bit loose!

PS I'm loving seeing pics of you girls even more now I've met you all!!!!

Good idea to pass on these Tara - you could do so much better! I think the fit is fine, but they are tooo short and you'd look so much better in a pair that didn't have such a high rise!
