Are these booties and pumps dated?

Going through my closet. Are these keep or donate?

1) Rag & Bone Newburys. Purchased in late 2012 from Shopbop. Worn for a few years, not at all recently due to heel height. They are leather lined. There are a few outfits I might still wear with them, but now they look kind of dated to me.

2) LD Tuttle booties. Worn once. Purchased in 2014 from Shopbop. They are beautifully made and comfortable (much more so than the Newburys). Most LD Tuttle shoes fit me really well. The ankle is fitted which makes them more modern than the Newburys. They might work with dresses? But if I've never worn them, what does that say?

3) Sam Edelman Okalas. I have clothes that match these color wise (some of my RO pieces). But the vibe is wrong for RO so I'm thinking pass. These are much easier to let go of because they cost a fraction of the above two.

Side question: The white paper in the booties is stuffing to hold their shape. Does anyone else store footwear this way?

Caveat - I don't think I am the best at these things.

I see these all as classic great pieces. But at the moment I do think lower heel footwear seems to be more "in".

I would wear all of these and feel fab in them - my favourite is the LD Tuttle Booties because I have a soft spot for this style. But if you aren't calling for them then maybe you don't?

If the Okalas are comfortable and you don't have other suitable evening pump or heel options I would keep them....at least until I replaced them with another alternative. But these occasions are getting rarer for me - life is so casual.

I would keep if they are comfortable, especially the LD Tuttles. The Newburys could be consigned if you don't feel them anymore. I no longer have my Okalas because of the height but would wear them happily if I could manage it. I think dated is less relevant to shoes these days with so many 90s and early 2000s cycling back. The only thing that looks wrong to me is super high stiletto heels. But they always looked wrong to me .

I don’t think they look dated at all. I’d keep. I have some heeled booties I didn’t wear for a couple of years, but I’ve started wearing them again. However, if you’re not wearing them because of the height, then I’d let them go. I’d maybe be more inclined to do so with the Tuttles because someone could really enjoy them being virtually new...

They don't look dated, really. Everything is DYOT these days. It's more how it feels to you and it seems the Newbury's feel passé for your style. Let them go! The Tuttles look super and bookend your hair so are in many ways good to have. If the Okalas work and you don't yet have a dressy alternative, keep. I still own (and very occasionally wear) 2 pair of Okalas. I haven't found a comfortable dressy summery alternative so those are what I've got. And while they don't feel super-current, they also don't feel out of style.

I am not good at this either but they do not look dated to me. It’s a matter of comfort in my opinion.

I say keep if you still like them, they are comfortable, and you can afford to store. Don't look dated, but the high heels make them special occasion shoes the days!

To me, the Newburys look a bit dated, but not horribly so. The rest look up-to-date to me, but if you're not wearing them, I would let them go.

I don't store my booties with the stuffing inside of them, but I do store my knee-high boots with something inside so that the shaft doesn't collapse.

The LD Tuttle boots are my favourite. I have some similar boots (mine are ivory) and wear them with jeans and pants (in finds is the material of some checked pants that I wear my goods with). I would definitely wear them with dresses and a denim skirt, particularly in spring and fall.

I don’t see any of these as dated, really. I like the Tuttles most for you, if comfort and usefulness is there.

I passed along my Newburys with sadness a few years ago because the height became too uncomfortable for normal day wear. I think they look fine and current enough but comfort is too important.

I also let go of my Okalas because I never wore them. Just not right for my lifestyle. But again, really good looking! I think they’re pretty classic.

If you never wear them, that probably tells you something.

Something about the heel and toe shape of the Newberrys look slightly dated to me. I’d probably pass along if you’re not wearing them due to the heel height. I agree with everyone else about the Tuttles- they look current. Maybe try a styling session. The Okalas are a classic, but if you’re not wearing them, and they don’t fit in your wardrobe, perhaps better to find a new home for them.

i past on the Newberrys and the Okalas a couple of years ago, not comfortable for everyday wear and not on trend enough for me to really try, but YMMV.
i think the Tuttles, with their western/cuban heel look like they are the most current and have the longest staying power. BUT if you've not worn them, what will change that?

I got rid of my Newbury's several years ago too - for much the same reason as everyone else here: all of a sudden they became uncomfortable and the heel felt too high. I wouldn't personally wear the look now - but we all know how heel shapes cycle back in and out . I think all of these shoes are classics - but ask yourself if you'd buy them again now (new) if you saw them. That usually answers any doubt I have.

I think the Tuttles would look great with a cropped pant or with dresses. It's hard to find a boot that fits around the ankle. I'm kind of over the Newbury look--not necessarily dated. They are a classic boot style--they just look uncomfortable so I'm probably projecting. I still like the look of the Okalas. I still have mine--the only pump I own.

Nothing is dated, Denise. But MAKE SURE these shoes are comfortable, and that you like them.

Angie has spoken so my opinion is moot, but FWIW I have similar booties and shoes and they are in heavy rotation to this very day. So enjoy!!

I guess it comes down to...do they feel dated for you? It sounds like the Rag and Bones might not fit into your current style. Maybe the same for the Okalas?

Oh, and I don't stuff all my shoes with paper, but I definitely do for my tall boots!

I was thinking the Newburys might be the ones to pass on, because of the height issue. Do you have other dark booties that you choose to wear instead? If so, let them go. I'd be inclined to keep the Tuttles, but I'm wondering why they languish. They are a great bookend with your hair color and should be a great choice to go with lots of things. Sounds like you are ready to let the Okalas go. Do you have other options that you prefer to wear for dressy occasions?

Thank you for all of the input. I think I will pass on the Newburys, it's been a good 4-5 years since I wore them last. They are just too high in the heel. (Why do I hang on to things so long? Oh well, doing something about it now.)

As for the LD Tuttles, I'm going to have some try ons. Maybe I'll post some pics.

The Okalas are going, I have other things I'm wearing in their place, generally ankle strap pumps with square toes.
