Are there any items from fall and winter you regret not buying?

Maybe everyone is booing and hissing now because they want to focus on spring and summer dressing and forget about winter?

I only have two that come to mind and they're on the same thread: leather pants and a leather skirt.

I wanted them both very badly but i held back because i felt like...my environment wouldn't be able to handle it (the community more-so i guess). Normally i don't let those kinds of things bother me so i don't know why i did this time and i'm bummed i did!

How about you? Don't leave me hanging.

I can't think of anything but Nicole, you would rock leather pants and/or skirt. Go for it next fall/winter.

I did, but ended up getting most of them post season - some black booties, lace up mid calf boots in black patent and a black puffer (Hi Shannon - it never even got that cold here this winter, but I'm ready for next ) (hopefully I'll still want them next year). Exceptions are cognac boots and a new wool overcoat (camel preferred). I managed to survive though so I'll just put them on my lookout list.

Yes, a floral skirt featured in one of Angie's blog posts. I have a hard time receiving packages, so I'd have to have it sent to either my bf's or my mom's. And they'd slap my wrist for shopping when I need to be getting rid of clothes.

There was this charcoal fine-knot merino-cashmere blended sweater with raglan sleeves and a flat cable pattern over a deep ribbed waist (came up to just under my bust). Couldn't afford it just then, and decided not to put it on my credit card... but it was perfect and it was on sale too!

I failed at sleek tall boots of course, and I never did work terribly hard at finding a pair of skinny-ish bootcut jeans. I'd like to find a pair for next year so I can wear my ankle boots with them.

Very few sizes left though, just thought I'd throw that in here, just in case.

Meanwhile, as for me - I regret not just spending the money and buying a really nice leather jacket in the fall. I keep waiting until I'm finished losing weight, and/or I keep waiting for a really good sale or something. This is kind of stupid. A 'fab' leather jacket would have really helped my wardrobe for ....months and months and months. From October to May. Holding back, because I don't feel like I "deserve" a nice leather jacket until I'm at final goal weight is just dumb.

Those black boots Angie recommended (Aquatalia?) that were tall and stretchy - they seemed so expensive at the time! But maybe the shaft would have been too tall for me. Yeah, that's it. *sour grapes*

Not really. I guess I live by the favorite saying of my great-grandmother: :everything happens to the better" If I like something and don't get it it is because I
a) did not like it enough to pull the trigger
b) not getting it leaves more money and more room in mu closet for something better - because something better will come anyway!

Anyway, this principle makes my life so much easier!:-)

A longer (knee length) black puffer! I have a shorter one but I get cold very easily and longer one would really be useful. There was a perfect one on Bluefly by Soia&Kyo, but it was still quite pricey. I was trying to save up for it, but by the time I did XS was sold out

Well, now that I've read Sveta's post I feel better and have no regrets! ^_^

But... before I read that, I would have said: it's Autumn here right now! And I've seen so much stuff that is "me" or that I'm pretty sure would be, that I can't stand it! It has been trickling in...and I think it is going to trickle out before I can afford to buy it, so I will end up with lots of regrets... there's tons of repetition across brands, but the inspiration is one I've loved for years - mod (I used to have a bright red vinyl hooded above-the-knee coat, that I found in an opshop, original unworn vintage - I wore it to death and it significantly defined my style).

Lots of red mini or knee length skirts in red, the occasional royal blue skivvy (turtleneck), plaid skirts to match, red sixties style shift dresses with button detail...and some lovely purples...etc.

I haven't pounced because a) the expense; b) confused that there are so many - which one to try? c) fabrication - some are too thick; and d) this is the weirdest, but although I know I should take it while it's abundant, the fact that it's everywhere turns me off somehow? It's just not the same feeling of joy and urgency that comes with snatching up the thrift store jewel. I know, I'm a loony!

Apparently I am also longing for the flatforms that I missed out on last summer because I ended up ordering them today.

Nothing on trend last winter, but I didn't get either a classic denim jacket or a black cardigan. I own adequate but not "a 10" versions of both, so am just waiting until the right one comes along.

Anne, I have been diligently making regular brick and mortar visits and have seen these items pop up! Some at DJs and Myer, so definitely possible for you if you get to town again!
