When I buy something like a basic white button front shirt I want it to last a while. I usually get Lauren or Foxcrot but I got a shirt at a local boutique in the spring. I'm finding that one just doesn't feel right to me so tonight after thinking about it and not going to sleep I got up to measure the width of all my collars. I found the RL are the narrowest, then Foxcroft but the blouse I got locally has a much wider collar.
How do you know what to buy so it will last a few years, be classic in a sense? For example collar width seems to be going narrower. Are there other things I should watch for?
