These would be classic in Australia but not sure about US, I have a pair that I keep for my resort capsule. Wide-leg pants are back on the runway & the platform trend usually cycles at the same time.
I think the general trend is toward more refined footwear. But summer sandals may be a bit of an exception, and I agree with Caro that with a wide leg trouser these could be great.
Well, I think they still look great with dresses and I cannot wear refined footwear. It just looks odd on me. It is not at all practical for my lifestyle. I am not really dainty. Love it on others and love the pointy toe but a thin heel does not love me. Not sure i will keep these, they are remarkably comfy.
^ I think in cases like this, it doesn't matter if something is "in" or "out". It sounds like this style of footwear suits you and your lifestyle, and those factors often override what is trendy and what's not.
I think it's a retro look that's always stylish, so long as they go with your style (which they do!). I always have my chunky platforms in the summer because it's the only way I can get some height with sandals.
