No worries. People have to wear what works for them. I had 3 weddings the year I broke my foot. I had to wear "real" shoes to be comfortable and wider leg dressy pants with a tuxedo jacket and silk top fit the bill nicely.
(I did attend a roaring twenties, over the top extravaganza wedding; the bride directly requested Downton Abbey level costumery of guests. Sheesh... I was told I could dress "like Lady Mary". Yes, if I had a team to dress me, a designer at the ready, and was thirty years younger I could.)
