are motos timeless?

Recently, I reorganized my closet, purged a ton and stored anything out-of-season. I've been building a small casual Autumn/Winter capsule based on Angie's basic recommendation (6 tops, 3 bottoms, 2 toppers, etc). I'm looking at warm toppers now.

I have a new longer cardigan coming, but am wondering about a moto jacket.

Last spring, I purchased the Gap cotton moto in blue and white, and I enjoyed wearing it out. On the other hand, I am not accustomed to wearing that kind of topper inside the house.

Do you wear motos inside for warmth? Motos have had a long run already. If I buy a nice one, do you think it will be dated soon? Is there another option for a timeless topper?

I think they can be timeless if they're on the more simple side in terms of embellishment and not in a trendy color. I also think classic toppers can be blazers in a myriad of fits and colors. I wear toppers inside all the time.

I wear my motos both as outfit toppers and as outerwear -- just depends on the weather, my activities, and the rest of the outfit. I see them as timeless, but I'm pretty heavily invested in them, so I may be biased.

I think the fabrication(cotton/linen/fleece versus leather/suede/silk) will let you know how and where it can be worn but as a style I do think they are timeless.

Moto jackets are a Modern Classic. I wear them both indoors and outdoors depending on the weather and their thickness.

I don't know if they're timeless but I think they are adequately current. I just bought one at SSIF and I see them for sale everywhere.
