Are micro-checks still in?

I am organizing my closet and came across my micro-check pants that I haven't worn in a long time. Are they still "in"? They are the exact ones from the Gap that Angie recommended in her post from...4 years ago!

I have both the wider leg black ones and the straight leg brown ones. The wider leg ones I have worn in the past with grey Cons and the narrower ones with ballet flats. Both I tend to wear with a solid color top - black,white or brown, like a pullover sweater or long sleeve tee and a jacket of some sort - I have worn a black moto jacket, white moto jacket, and red cropped military jacket (with the wide leg ones).

Are they in or out, do you think? And if still in, should I style them any differently?

Oh good! And I suppose I should clarify that I mean still in as a casual pant with Cons, etc., as opposed to a dressier work pant.

Those micro-checks are a traditional men's wear pattern that, if in a trouser-style pant, is a classic look for both men and women. As long as you enjoy that masculine vibe, I think those pants could stay in your wardrobe a long time.

ETA: Just read your comment about wanting to wear them with Cons. That particular casual/dressy mix is probably what would date the outfit more than the items themselves.

Yes, my lifestyle is very casual Gaylene. I suppose I could hang on to them for when I need a dressier pant... which hasn't been for years now, LOL!

They are a perfect foil for pattern mixing.

Thanks for the input everyone! Gaylene, I think a chunky knit would look great with them.

My problem is shoes for casual wear if Cons won't work, especially with the wider leg pair. I can wear ballet flats or slipper style loafers with the straight leg pair, but I don't care for how they look with the others.
