Are high tops still good for casual wear?

I have plenty of casual shoes: Vans, Converse, Supergas, Adidas, etc. I do not own any high top footwear. Still on trend? I've been eyeing up some classic Supras...any thoughts?

Heidi Klum seems to favor them...as well as Justin Bieber Maybe the latter should be reason enough not to indulge. However, here are a couple pairs I'm considering:

I think you answered your own question I would pass, but they give me flashbacks to the 80s and not in a good way.

I have and still wearing my Adidas x Opening Ceremony high tops with black on black tonal leopard, white stripes, red trim.
Also my Celine taupe sneakers are about a 3/4 top, just barely above the ankle.
Definitely wearing both.

I wear Converse high tops. I didn't know they could be off-trend, to be honest. I thought they were classic.

Mention of Justin Bieber would make me say pass, lol! But seriously speaking, I don't see them as a trend either, if you think they would add to your look, why not.

I have my converse hight top wedges that I will wear if Spring returns at some point. Right now it's just Sorels and Timberlands, I suppose they can qualify as high tops, too.

Always good. I am "offended" by the thought they ever would be "on trend" because they are CLASSIC if they fit your personal style.

I have been doing extensively travelling throughout Europe and Asia for work and while boots are dominant in the cooler climates, high top sneakers are everywhere in the more southern climes like Italy, Hong Kong, Serbia, Taiwan, Korea ...... Nike, Adidas and Vans are everywhere
