Are colored jeans still 'in'?

I ruined my favorite pair of white jeans with a small but noticeable stain that I can't get out...so I was thinking of dying them a fun color like kelly green or fuchsia, but are those types of jeans dated? I was also thinking a muted color like burgundy or forrest green might be more current. Are you still wearing colored denim?

I found some mint or turquoise colored pants which I'll be wearing soon. In saying that I'm often the last one to join a trend.

I would love to find a blush pair, and I have seen both burgundy and Kelly green for fall so I would say they are still popular.

Sally - I am usually late to most parties, too Turquoise jeans sound really cool!

I just bought a pair of olive green jeans, and am looking for a pair of burgundy. If you can dye your jeans, I say go for it!

These days it seems that darker, muted colored denim is more readily available. I'm not seeing the bright or light colors in jeans so much -- those are looking a little more dated to me.

I have the dark burgundy Dre jeans from Rag & Bone from last year, and they offered them again this year (a popular choice at NAS), so that color sure seems to be going strong. I have an older pair of very dark green coated jeans that I still intend to wear this winter.

Sorry about the stained favorite white jeans. This is always such a risk with white denim!

Thanks, Janet, that's what I had suspected about bright/light colored jeans, too, with maybe an exception for blush which I've seen around but would look terrible on me. I love the look of the burgundy Dres!

Thank you Style Fan! I have olive chinos and love them. Olive jeans would be nice, too, although there are so many variations of the color, I would probably just buy and not attempt diy

Have you tried using OxiClean powder on your white stained jeans? For bad stains I make a paste of the powder and apply it to the stain and let it set. Then soak the whole pair overnight in a solution of the OxiClean and tepid water, machine wash with the solution. I often add some Tide with bleach to the wash. Hang to dry then check the stain, repeat if needed.

If you do try to dye them, you will probably still have white thread. Thread is almost always polyester, which will not dye easily- it takes a different chemical formula and very high heat versus cotton dye. So you might Want a color that looks good with white contrast stitching.

Well, I found pair of dark muted red " skinny" jeans at TJ Maxx that fit me better than most and seemed to offer some fun options with sneakers and untucked tops for transitional season wear with items I already have.

I had the same thought-- how " over"
are they, or are the outfits I might devise, and do I care? And decided
didn't care about external review but would create a few outfits that suit ME and be happy.
I'm not always that confident but for some reason I decided to go bold!

Yes, lots of burgundy around. NYDJ had a bunch of lighter colors this summer. I bought the burgundy Dres but I am leaving the tags on in case anyone posts that they stretched out horribly. It won't be cool enough to wear them for another month or two here in N.E.

Karen13 and Joy~ thank you...good info. I didnt even think about things like stitching, i just didnt want to chuck my fave jeans! I will pick up some oxy and see how it goes. Now i guess i will just have to go out and some burgundy jeans
