Are colored jeans passé?

I don't have them yet but on a whim I ordered two pairs of straight-leg colored jeans on clearance sale, one bright turquoise and the other dark red. Is this look now totally "over"? Am I going to look "soooo 2012" wearing them? Assuming that they fit well, of course...

I don't think so at all! I think coloured denim still has a place and is still going strong.

I don't think so. They are still for sale everywhere. I think colored jeans will be around for a loooong time, it just might be a different color each
season that's the "it" color. Like last fall was burgundy, but there was still lots of color choice. My only colored jeans are teal, and I love them! I want some mint for Spring.

They are everywhere, so I don't think so! Classic colors will be easier to wear through several seasons, though. I think both turquoise and red qualify in that respect.

I hope not, it makes a change from denim and it gives the casual dresser like me more diversity in what to wear.

I am not partaking of the trend only because finding jeans period is so hard!

I hope not. I still don't have a pair, but jeans season is almost over for me (too hot in summer to wear jeans). I almost bought a nice burgundy pair at the Rack last fall, and regret not buying them because they would have gone so well with all kinds of tops/jackets that are too neutral/blah with regular blue jeans.

I hope not! I just bought that green pair, and think that colored jeans--while not as versatile as regular jeans--are a lot of fun. Life's too short not to enjoy your clothes!

I have several pairs of cheap coloured jeans (from Big W for any fellow Aussies - they are great!!). I love wearing them as they make a simple outfit so much fun! I hope they aren't going anywhere too soon!

I just ordered my first pair of colored jeans (red). It took me this long to get over the last time colored jeans were in.

Not at all passe! But not as on trend as they were two to three years ago. Pastels are more trendy than brights at the moment. Coloured jeans are definitely still going strong.

I never got into it, personally. I bought coral jeans a few years ago and wore them but not a lot. When it comes to jeans, I much prefer faded blue and white for my style. But I love to wear coloured trousers - just not jeans.

I hope not - I still love them. I'm crossing my fingers they become a fashion staple for years to come. I love how a pair of colored jeans adds spunk to a simple outfit.

I don't think so either. Style magazine said that they were one of the top 5 ( or 10 ) trends for the Spring/Summer. They are all over the catalogs. But in the end, who cares. I love my red jeans. They have become part of my "arsenal" . Maybe they will become part of yours too !

I still love my colored jeans (turquoise, burgundy, raisin, pink!) and see the trend lasting at least one more year. The great thing lately is having so many options available to us!

I still see them a lot. I didn't get in on it, but I really only wear bottoms that are medium to dark blue, black or gray.

Yup, they are everywhere in the stores around here! But like Kristin and Angie, I find myself wearing "standard" bottom colors. Never really got into my orange (and silver-gray) pairs.

Totally agree with Angie. I think a lot of it will be in how you style these as well. They can be a pretty neutral base to start off with in that it's a pair of jeans, no matter the colour!
