Anyone want to try my failed denim jacket?

Just thought I would ask before I donate it:

I bought it on ebay but it is is too long all over for me. It's a size small, by Mavi jeans. The seaming and shape is nice but I'm too short and short-waisted for it. I think it would probably look good on a taller person or someone with a longer torso. The overall length is around 20" (11" from under the arm).

If you can't do a straight swap, all I would ask for is the shipping cost.

Maya, I would take it off your hands in a jiffy were it not for the fact that I am shorter and bigger than you I hope someone will want it.

LOL, yup, I am just under 5'2" I have been trying to maintain scale in my pictures lately - I need to stop cropping off everything around me and then you'll see

I just read on your other thread that Angie thinks this might work for me. I'd love to take it off your hands, not entirely sure it will fit though (I do wear a medium usually).

Angie: do you really think I can squeeze myself into this? I definitely bought my last denim jacket too big. Since finding YLF I've learned that it's supposed to be a slimmer fit to get the cheeky effect.
I'm willing to give it a try;-) If it doesn't fit I could always put it up for swap again/resell it.

I'll have a look in my wardrobe later today Maya. If I don't find anything fun for you, I'll pay for the shipping costs. Or is there anything you want from Belgium?

Inge, I will take measurements later to see if it will work. Keep in mind that it's the kind of jacket that should really be worn open (it's a pain to button it and it looks better unbuttoned anyway, I think), so if it's a little tight in the chest, that's okay. Hopefully it will fit in the arms and shoulders though.

Something from Belgium! Hmm. I guess waffles won't keep well in the mail...

Measurements:

Sleeve (taken from the shoulder seam): 24"
Bust (armpit to armpit): 18"
Arm hole (laid flat, going along the curve of the seam with a measuring tape): 10"
Length: From shoulder seam to hem: 20"

If the bust is a bit too small, I wouldn't worry too much, since it seems meant to be worn open. I also found the arm holes to be quite big and roomy on me (I have pretty skinny arms though).

Thanks for measuring Maya! I just measured my old denim jacket and the measurements are about the same (the arms on yours are a little shorter, but I could always wear it with rolled up sleeves). I could probably button it, but I agree that it looks better unbuttoned anyway. So let's give it a try. I'll send you an email in a minute.

I went through my closet and found the following, not sure if these will fit your tiny frame:
- army green shorts, Esprit, size 38, they measure about 16.90" from top to bottom hem
- a taupish olive green silk dress, short sleeves, size small, bust about 18.5", lenght from shoulder seam to hem about 40.5"
- a silk blouse, white background with tealish blue large print, Zara, it's a little boho-looking for me, bust about 18.5" inch

If any of these sound interesting I can take additional measurements and post pictures too.
I'd send you a batch of home-made waffles in a heartbeat, but fear they might be a bit stale by the time they arrive;-)

Hmm, I think those items are going to be too big or long, and olive is not the greatest color for me. The Zara blouse sounds interesting. What size is it? Can I get a pic?

It's a European size 40 Maya, but on the smaller side + it's one of those blousy tops that's supposed to be worn a little looser. I'll try to take pictures tomorrow, it's getting dark here now.

Oh, I think a 40 will be too big in the shoulder. I'm usually a 34 or 36.
