Anyone try on the RM Merilee blazer?

I wanted to ask if anyone tried on the RM Merilee Herringbone blazer for size? I don't have a Nordies card and need to wait for the public sale, it's practically sold out but hopefully there will be bounce back or restock. I have the RM Merilee blazer in b&w tweed, which is one of my favorite purchases of 2017. That blazer ran super small, I'm 5'3" 113 lb, size 4-6 34A chest and I took a large. They say this runs TTS, so I should take a Medium unless it runs super small again (which all reviews commented on the tweed version). I honestly don't get the sizing.....but with this jacket so hard to find I'd love a better sense of which size if anyone has information. Thanks.

Sterling - thank you. If you love long jackets, it's a very flattering, elongating cut. The low stance, single button looks very good on. This looks more trans seasonal than the tweed. The good news is it's a recurring silhouette for RM so hopefully it I miss out there will be others or similar. It's been so a good long blazer year. Gotta stock up while I can!

Thank you, Gryffin. I have been busy collecting all the Finds that even remotely interest me. I'll be busy going though my Finds and editing them down to a reasonable selection next week..

I actually am in the market for a jacket. This is very promising.

Angie - thank you. The photo of the tweed does not do it justice. Although truth be told the fabric is not the finest. The tweed fiber catches and pills on my watch. But the cut is extraordinarily flattering. Saw it on “alterationsneeded” and it’s magical on, at least for me. You do like the fabric, from what I can see, right on this new iteration. It looks more trans seasonal. At least it’s not Uber expensive. If I miss the sale hopefully I can still find one. Hope you are having a great sale for yourself and lucky, lucky clients!! Don’t forget frequent tea and cake breaks!!

Greyscale - it’s a great year for those who enjoy “color” but not as much for the black/black light crew. But I really like the cut of this blazer. Fingers crossed the stars allign for acquisition!!

Kathie - thank you. IKR, when you have a very defined style certain pieces just look like they belong. Specially made for us. Those are the pieces that usually fit seamlessly into our wardrobes. It was like that w the MK collection houndstooth blazer. How could that be so expensive, since it was obviously meant to be mine?! Stalking sooo paid off!!

Order/stalk multiple sizes if necessary? Maybe call a store and ask an SA in that department? Or maybe call customer service and see if they have info or garment measurements?

People return things constantly, so it’s a revolving cycle for the merchandise. I think your chances of getting what you want are excellent. It’s a lovely blazer. I have a herringbone blazer made by Smythe from two years ago and it’s a wardrobe workhorse. It goes with everything. The long length of this one is very attractive.

Staysfit - thank you. I'm hopeful. Are not Smythe blazers the best?!! I have the Smythe corded black lace blazer. The quality and fit are sublime. The cut so flattering. Every detail beautifully done. Some brands are so worth the price, not only do they look wonderful but they just feel so amazing on! Your jacket sounds wonderful. Have you posted it? I'd love to see. Angie also has gorgeous Smythe blazers which I covet, fortunately she is a much smaller size, so poaching is out. Sigh......

Lisa - I would too, but I have a flat bum so for all intents and purposes it's immaterial as far as fit. But I prefer a double vent also.

I just think it looks more finished with a vent - and less like the manufacturer was cutting corners.

Lisa - is this why so many super expensive jackets are coming unlined? VB, Isabel Marant, I don't get it. I have to check every jacket description now. A lining makes them drape better and last longer. But so many designers are doing partial linings and it really irks me. There is nothing like a bemberg lining!!! IMHO of course! And I would pay extra for it.

I haven't shopped for a good jacket in a couple of years now - and am relying on my Smythe collection to pull its weight when I do want to wear one. Career changes have made buying designer jackets unnecessary and not a great use of my smaller clothing budget. I agree that unlined = another corner-cutting measure.
