Anyone Tried? Banana Republic Sloan Pant

I have been wanting to try the Banana Republic Sloan pant (http://bit.ly/1fM5skr) but wanted to get a sense from other women how they fit. I know from a petite blogger that they do wonders for smaller women, but as a curvy gal I thought i'd ask!

I think Angie regularly recommends these. Not sure how they fit though. I am a Talbots girl myself. A machine washable trousers Talbots girl

I know a bunch of us have them: I have three pairs, Una has a pair or two, Rae has a pair, I'm pretty sure Shannon has a pair, maybe Ceit and the list goes on. They seem to fit across a variety of body types, but I don't know that I've seen any pretty pears talking about them. Most of us with them are ITs, rectangles or others with sadly little waist and with straighter hips.

I have one pair and they work pretty well. Don't you wear the j crew Minnie's? They are somewhat similar.

I don't have a pair but they are on my list to try if the Martins don't work out. I am mildly peeved that they seem to only come in ankle length now mostly!

(Sorry for the hijack, Lauren!) Ceit, how tall are you? I'm 5'5" and mine fit like full length pants. Just FYI. I'm wearing them in my WIW post today--in outfit two.

I do Martin's and Jacksons and found these really tight in the thighs. Do review if you try them though!

Actually I don't have the Sloans - I tried them but they didn't work for me at all. I'm a petite apple and the fit was not right.

I have found that the Express Editors work much better for my body type.

They don't work for me, and I am a figure 8 pear shape (high, wide hip). I wear the Martin fit.

They don't work for me either. I wear Martin's as well. I have a 10 inch difference between my waist and hips with let's say muscular thighs. I think the Sloans are better on a straighter figure. I've also had good luck with Eddie Bauer curvy fit, Ann Taylor curvy fit, Talbot's Heritage, and LOFT Julie fit.

We ended up with my pear tendancy mom in the Martin yesterday. I am a pearish rectangle myself and I am a loyal J. Crew "Minnie" wearer which is a similar silhouette to this pant. I must give this one a try though and look forward to your report!

I am 5'5, and curvy. I just bought the banana republic Martins and they are my favourite pant EVER. Not cheap, but beautiful!! I can't say enough about them

Oddly, I wear the short, which needs hemming with flats

I often try curvy fits if the label makes them, these are great I also tried their Jackson but they didn't have any of my size, I have never tried their other

I am curvy on bottom and have 2 pair, wanting a 3rd. Great for a low rise, esp. in petite. I hate hate hated the J. Crew minnies for curvy thighs.

This is my go-to pant right now. I'm a tall rectangle and these are available in Long, so that's a plus. They might not work on curves, but perhaps are worth a try. The fabric is wonderfully substantial with a bit of stretch.

I've been looking into sloans myself lately. I'm an Inverted Triangle with apple tendencies and personally, I find that they are just OK. I'm actually in between two pant sizes (6 and 8) so I'll still need to make minor alterations. Im likely not going to get them.

Full review coming soon but upon first try on, i'm really not a fan. And I agree with above, i HATE j.Crew pants for curvies, so was hoping these would be an alternative

I'm late to answer here, but I recently bought a pair of these Sloans in navy. I am curvy - I am a LOFT curvy size 4, for example.

The 4 is slightly too tight - I think the 6 was slightly too big. Maybe the Martins would be better for me.

Not sure I'm a huge fan.

Also, I have been shunning the dry clean only tags on things lately and laundering in my front loader with good success. I washed these, but I think I may have left a slight shiny mark with the iron.....

I cannot wear J. Crew to save my life. Relieved to hear I'm not alone! I love how they look on the long, lean girls.

Love the Sloans. They are more of a straight rather than curvy cut (I'm an apple). I would say they fit like the LOFT Marisa's.

hope it helped everyone! If anyone else has any other less-mainstream-branded recommendations, please let me know. I can't seem to fit into any of the BR, Ann Taylor, etc basic styles. Pearshaped problems!

Has anyone else noticed that BR seems pretty low on the selection of Jackson fit pants lately? I wonder if they're trying to phase them out on the hush? Sometimes I can fit the Martins, but it all just depends.

Lauren, have you tried the Ann Taylor tropical wool pants in Signature fit? For some reason, the Signature fits better than their Curvy, and the Tropical Wool fits better than the cotton versions. The Tropical wool is a nice feel + falls nicely on the leg. I have noticed that their pants seem to have shifted a size - all of my old ones still fit, but in store, I'm now going up a full size in the same cut from a year ago - so beware of that if you decide to try them again.
