Anyone seen this Maggy London dress?

I loved the cut of the Maggy London dress in Angie's Fab finds post, however don't think those colours or the print would work on me. A link to this similar dress caught my eye however:

Love the stripes and think the draping may just work across an apple belly. I've got another Maggy London dress that I love, so am tempted. What do you think? (yes I realise I shouldn't be shopping, but oops!!!)

Tam, I just realized that I might have ordered this same dress! Long story, but I had to call a Nordstrom to order the dress in Angie's picks, and didn't have a style number, so I described it - well, the salesperson said yes, she had the dress, but it was $138, not $158. Of course I was happy, thinking I had the price wrong Now that I see the dress you posted, I think this is the dress she is sending to me! LOL.

I love that dress!

I'd be tempted to try it myself but I wonder how it would be on a hourglass/pear... I don't have midsection worries, but stripes at the hip and high necklines give me pause. I'm wondering if the varying angles on the stripes might help the eye skim over the curves rather than point to them!

I have seen it! It falls a little differently than the Suzi Chin dress in my picks last week. A little trickier on the midriff, but you'll just have to try it on.

I have the green dress from Angie's post and it is my favorite piece ever. So I was excited when I saw this in the store...but a lot less excited when I tried it on. It was shorter, for one thing, but not nearly as flattering as the other green one. Not exactly sure why, but it just did not work...for me.

That's right, Kyle. The fit is different on this dress - the mid riff fit is tricky, as I mentioned in an earlier comment.

Thanks for all the responses. Definiely food for thought. Although Nordstroms does have a great return policy, I am in Australia, so shipping is both pricely, and an inconvienience for returns. Also I'm about to go away for a month, so probably won't even be here when it arrives. Maybe I'll stalk it and see if it ever goes on sale.

Laura, interesting that you have bought the same dress. Will you pretty please post pics when it arrives?
