Auburn, lucky you! I just watched The September Issue on Netflix a few weeks ago but had missed this thread. I found Grace Coddington utterly fascinating to watch, both due to her firey personality, her process of thinking out the editorial shoots, and her personal backstory. Thakoon Panichgul was adorable, too - I liked the outtake at the end where he was just completely bowled over when learning that he was featured in the documentary.

Oh, Kari -- I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie too! I watched it again while my sister was visiting last week, and liked it even more the second time.

I found the whole concept/process much more interesting than I thought I would. I'm hoping to watch it with my mom and sister soon - I think they'd enjoy it too.

When my sister and I were watching, I found it interesting that both of our sons (9 and 14, neither into fashion) wandered in and ended up staying to see the movie. I think they enjoyed the process as well: the idea that there are real people behind the scenes, deciding "This, not that."
