Anyone seen any cool things in black violet?

Besides the bag anna posted earlier? Her post reminded me that I've been obsessing over finding something in this color (which I think of as "black iris" - see the pic below) for the longest time. Kind of like ink blue but obviously more purple!

PS I would most especially love a dressy trench in this color!

I think it's more fall color. I'm pretty sure my bag was from last season. Shopstyle produced some bags in that color at all price ranges.

Swoon! Huge fan of this color here. I am actually wearing it on my toes this very moment even though it is much more fall appropriate.

Like Anna wrote, it's more often seen in fall and winter. Search under "eggplant" for the color. I was able to find a few random things that way. You will have better luck once the cooler weather lines are in.

I love this shade too and try to scoop something up in it in the Fall typically. I have a steampunk velvet skirt and jacket in eggplant that I need to remember next Fall!

Oooh, that Burberry.... I think I might have to amend my dream "black burberry coat" to "eggplant burberry coat"... or, reversible black and eggplant?

You are all right that this is probably an autumn/winter color, which is unsurprising as those are always my favorite colors anyway!

Now I am thinking that some snakeskin jeans in this color would be amazing!

Ooh, Claudia, I have had my hair dyed that color in the past... it doesn't last too long unfortunately because my red undertones tend to dominate after a few washes. Still, thanks for the reminder... I may try purple again next time I go to the hairdresser.

Diana, you should be in luck this fall. Eggplant is expected to be a major color trend for Fall 2012 based on Fashion Week's runway.
