Anyone have a Cambridge Satchel?

I think I remember seeing a few in past Polyvore sets that Angie has put together, but I'm interested in hearing from anybody that has one. I like the simple design and what looks like sturdy leather, but I'm not sure if the smallest size (11", I think) is too small to be useful and if the buckles are a pain to open and close with regular use.

I have one; I have a 13"? 14"? That size - in oxblood.

I never use it because the buckles drive me f-ing bonkers.

Ack, Lyn. That's exactly what I thought. Can it be used unbuckled or would that look really awful?

I ordered one a while back because it was the perfect beautiful cobalt blue I wanted... but there was no way I was going to deal with those buckles all teh time, so back it went. It felt too insecure with the flap just hanging unsecured.

They need to make a version that closes in another fashion and just has decorative buckles.

I gave mine to my niece for the same reason (she loves it). I never felt right leaving it unbuckled. I also found the leather a bit hard - but I prefer an unstructured bag.

Thanks to the three of you for the input. I do like structured bags so plus one for that. Too bad there's no option for a magnetic closure.

I don't own one but I've played around a bit with them in store. Several things made it really impractical for me. The buckle thing lyn* mentions above is annoying. Also, it weIghs a lot even empty. Third, you can't stuff it or it won't close. I'm also more of an unstructured bag person.

FWIW. I have seen several faux buckles with magnetic closures so they do exist. I don't buy them because I prefer the real thing. Holy grail would be zippered inner closure under the buckled flap.

It was a huge waste of $140. I am still mad because I can't send it back - I paid about $50 of duties as well, and it would be about $40 to send back.

That is a bummer, Lyn. I remember when you bought that bag and I thought it was so cute, esp for a young doc. Sad. Maybe ebay?

Thank you for asking - I'm now scratching this off my list because I would not like it for the buckle issues and I was afraid it would be way too stiff.
