Hi Anchie, I use a tripod and the self-timer on my camera. One day I might get a remote control. My self-timer is set to take 4 shots and there is an interval between each shot.
I try to shoot in daylight and lately even outside as the results are so much nicer. I have the camera shooting from somewhere between waist height and chest height as my legs look really short from eye level; but it depends on your figure flattery priorities as some people hate being photographed from below as it gives them a double chin etc.
I shoot from far enough away that my full body fits, or further if I'm outside, then crop. I find it's always better to gain distance; that avoids distortion. Photos from very close up are the worst; fishbowl face. Still. it's better than nothing.
If I didn't have time I'd just take a snap in a mirror - you have to turn off the flash for this.
I take tons of photos from all different angles and post the ones which are both flattering and accurate. Sometimes I dance while the shutter is going off
I try to keep mess out of the shot, even if it's just a few centimetres
I think Aida posted here or on YLF blog about photos, try searching for that.
Oh, most importantly, don't stress! If you enjoy striving to take good photos, that's fine. But the point here is for everyone to share outfits and learn, not be a master photographer. As long as we can see the outfit that is the main thing; if you put off posting until everything is perfect, then we can't see the outfit at all (says she who posted one outfit in the last few months...)
