Any thoughts on these sneakers for me? UPDATE: I bought them!

I struggle with winter shoes. Our climate is temperate but at the moment quite wet. I don't tend to wear ballet flats or loafers, and at the moment have a mix of ankle boots, heels, a pair of converse, and some Adidas trainers that I wear casually too ( they are sort of gear but sort of not).

I would like to refresh my winter footwear and have been thinking (and asking YLF) about some additional ankle boots. Then I saw these. I quite fancy them to wear with black and blue jeans, and maybe even a pair of soft trousers. Maybe with a skirt but probably not.

They also come in a pewter colour, and black (which I don't like as much).

Yes. I want them in pewter. The one thing to consider is if they would be a pain to take off and put on with all those buckles and no zipper. Do you remove shoes in the house? I like that they are different but not too out there and they look comfortable

Are these ash? I have them in black. I think they are a great alternative to boots. I wear them with jeans and shorts. Comfy enough to walk the dog in. I have seen photos of people wearing them with dresses but am not game enough to try this (yet!). Sorry, I don't know your style well enough to say whether they are you, but I like them a lot. And that colour is great. I would like a more neutral version!

Sorry, I was on my mobile before and could not open your link or Joy's post. I agree with Joy that the lack of a zip could be an issue for ease of wear. (Mine do have a zip.) If you like the style, maybe you could find a similar version that does have a zip?

I really like them. I think they would complement your style. I hadn't considered the buckle problem. I don't know that would prevent me from buying them though. I frequently have to sit on the ground and deal with shoes. Let us know what you decide.

Gorgeous - I love them! Pewter or this color here, both look great. And they do have a zipper, it's barely visible, but it's there, thus no problems putting them on. I want them too!

Love, love, love - wish this was an american brand I would so be snapping them up in black. LIke a better version of he ash virgin (I don't like the white toe cap and sole) so I am really loving these!! Hope they are comfy!!

I love these. Have two pair similar hi tops/chukkas for mild winter days and they get a lot of wear. Look more finished with a trouser or jean than low shoes.
These straddle the line between sport and easy casual.

I like them in the sand, but do not know your wardrobe. They would be useful in black or pewter if the rest of the accessories tend to be black.

I really like them. I think pewter would be most versatile, but this colour could also work. It's too light to bookend your hair but will work with lighter toned outfits overall.

If you don't buy them, I will. LOVE. I struggle with light colored footwear, but these are AMAZING. Both feminine (color) and masculine (edge). That for me is the holy grail, when the two collide in a single item. Seriously, I want these. NOW.

I've looked at this and read all the comments twice....and am still frankly on the fence. I like them in principle, and a year or so ago would have been really drawn to them, but I never know what to do with shoes like this. I think it's their flatness that's throwing me off. Or I'm seasonally confused and thinking summer right now, and of course you're not. I'm still confused. I can see them with jeans, but that's all I can envision, and now I'm intrigued enough to want to know what I'm not seeing here.

Oh, these look fab! And they're Deuces? They've really upped their styling this season. If you have an Overland nearby you may want to try them on first - some of their earlier styles used to cut across your toes where the toecap seam is. I think they've changed the shape of it now.

I have a similar colour pair of Skechers and find the neutral colour quite useful.

I think these might be stumpifying if you have short legs, but really cool if you don't!
Do you think the metallic leather might be too much 'flash' given that these shoes are already a bit flashy with the buckles and everything? On the other hand, the metallic might blend better with jeans and dark pants...not sure about this...

I vote for them in a darker color (like pewter or black). This pink color (?) looks more summery to me and something that you'd wear with a dress. Or rolled crops in warm weather.

Love them! They have a versatile sneaker shape, but the buckles make them interesting. I like the light colour. I wouldn't go for black -- I think it would take away from the "sneaker" vibe.

Not reading the other replies - I love them in black! I'm a bit meh on the other colors. I think the style looks awesome in black, but the other colors have me scratching my head. I don't know why.

Thank you all, those that like and those that don't. I will try on, there is a local branch. I like the pewter and the sand, I do wear a lot of jeans so they could be useful. Will report back.... And let you know re sizing Viva!!

A bit late, but I like them very much. I'm not wild about zippers on shoes and I have no problem with lots of buckles. It's a nice ritual, not like you have to unfasten them to go to the loo or anything. Looking forward to seeing you style them!

I did buy them, in the pewter in the end. They do have a zipper on the inside. They are pretty glitzy, but I think they work great with jeans and a simple sweater or jacket. They are a wee bit of a wildcard for me, but I plan to wear the heck out of them this winter and spring, and I definitely have a big place in my closet for flat comfortable shoes.

With these, my new blush sweater and two pairs of jeans I have completed my winter shopping. If I see a dressy mid weight coat on sale I may get it.

I will post a WIW later in the week wearing the new footwear:)
