Any thoughts on B & Lu?

I looked through Angie's blogs on fuller figures and learned about B & Lu... I had never heard of the website before. Upon browsing their items, I like what I see! Has anyone ordered anything from them? Any thoughts on fit and quality?

Also, they have plus size skinny jeans! Can an apple wear skinny jeans? I'd love to give skinnies a try, but I'd be worried that I'd look horribly unproportional.

I have not ordered from them, mainly because there are several things I would like, and a $250 order is out of the cards right now! As for skinny jeans, I would also recommend searching Fatshionista (they don't have a tag for skinny jeans) to see pictures of various women of all body shapes wearing skinny jeans. Look for someone similar to you, and decide what you think of the look!

I bet the girls are going to encourage you to give skinnies a try, if you have the slimmer legs usually associated with apples. That could be a hot look with a voluminous tunic or dress over them, maybe with the jeans tucked into boots. Practical for an Illinois winter, I would think.

I have no personal experience but I have a friend who is a very happy B & Lu customer. I wrote to her about them right after Angie's post and she hasn't looked back since.

Also, just throwing this out there: Forever 21 has started a plus size range, Faith 21. It's very new, but more stock is added just about every day, and it is becoming available in more and more stores.

p.s. I'm an apple and I wear skinnies, but I'll only wear them under tunics or dresses. I have a straighter pair that I can wear with normal tops.

Maya, I've heard about the Forever 21 plus size range... I thought it was just online! I generally am not too fond of their quality though. I guess it's worth a try!

Regarding the skinnies... I suppose I just need to try them on and see how I feel!

I like F21 for trendy items and experimenting with new looks or ideas. I also dare say that quality isn't as big of a deal at my age (25). It's all in how you wear it. As long as the quality doesn't make it look shabby or sloppy, I'll wear pretty much anything. I also find that price and quality often correlate but not always. A discerning eye is always needed. I have seen horrible quality at expensive stores, and great quality at the other end of the spectrum. I guess my point is never say never

You should definitely give skinnies a shot, MariannaCecile! I think they would suit your style.

Of the dresses you posted, I think the first one would be super-flattering. Not sure about the second (hard to tell about its detail).

Maya, you're right... I'm a snob! I'm only 22 so I suppose Forever 21 is completely appropriate for me. I guess my worry is that the items will fall apart or fade or just look completely cheap, and I don't want that! I haven't given the clothes a try though, so I shouldn't judge! And I see your point about using stores like F21 for experimenting/trendy items... makes total sense!
