Any other Southerners feeling exceptionally blah?!

Still in the upper 70s here. I'm so ready to wear Fall clothes... and envious of all the posts about them...and here I am still in sleeveless things. I had on a light wrap today and was so happy...that lasted about 10 minutes, then I felt too hot.

Just whining, that's all! Thought I'd check in and see if I had any company, and explain why I've been scarce on the board. I just don't have anything to post about and I'm so fashion-blah these days I'm not even chiming in to contribute. Sorry about that!

Mid 80s here in Kansas. Only one day even marginally fall-like so far. I ordered some sweaters from Boden and am likely returning them all. Not sure if my abivilance is the fit of the sweaters or the weather.

Sleeveless here today too at 79, but low 70s and plenty of 60s coming our way in the next couple weeks! I've been easing in some lightweight sweaters (silk/cotton/linen) and some long sleeve breezy blouses. Still too hot for skinny jeans or heavy denim yet, but I'm ready! I have worn my EF knit pants from NAS twice already and will likely wear them again to a party Saturday night. I've even managed closed toe shoes a few times already...had to force it a bit, but we'll get there.

Talk about blah...I should be able to mostly wear Fall clothes here by the first week of November, but I have to go to Sarasota that week where the long range forecast shows high 70s-low 80s!

Hang on a couple more weeks!

I live in the intermountain west and it was 89 today, 18 degrees above normal. It sure doesn't feel like fall. A week or so ago it felt cold, getting down In the 40s. Even though I'm wearing sleeveless tops while I do garden cleanup, I'm not complaining because it's just too darn beautiful.

95 today in the Sacramento valley ... Wearing every one of my dark linen tees with distressed white jeans rolled at the ankle. And flip flops.

I feel your pain - we're still in the 80s. I love to wear layers, scarves, jeans, boots... but summer is so long in the South. I grew up in the Pacific North West, and I definitely miss the cooling fall weather once September rolls around.

We're finally getting a cool snap later this week, but we've been mostly in the 70's, which is lovely, actually, but still too warm for wearing booties and sweaters!

Another upper 90's day here today. It's suppose to be 97 tomorrow. Where is fall?

It was 85 today-no fall here either. I love summer but even I'm ready for some cooler weather. These temps are well above normal.

As a Southern-HEMISPHERE person I am envious.

I just have to day - ENJOY YOUR WARMTH, I AM JEALOUS AND WILL SOON STEAL IT FOR MYSELF.

It's been raining for almost three weeks straight here. Winds are high - like, don't bother with an umbrella high. And it's 53.6*(f) here which, while it's warmer than it was last week, is still pretty cold.

You should rejoice! In a little whiles' time I'll be boasting about my good weather while you dream of warmer days.

I am so glad to hear you express this sentiment. I live in the Southeast. There is the promise of cooler weather, but I am still very much wearing my summer wardrobe. I may add a blazer on my morning commute, but that is my only nod toward cooler temperatures.

I guess I'm lucky that temps in the 70s means fall to me, so I don't have a problem with wearing my fall stuff now. Ha! I have moved into my fall colourways and boots with bare legs - as the temperatures continue to drop, I'll add layers and tights and scarves. But for now, the wardrobe just shifts in colour, not weight.

I feel for all of you! I'm technically in the south, but pretty much the northern-most southern state. We've been having highs in the 70s and lows now reaching into the 40s overnight, which I quite like. Nothing like a crisp morning, IMHO! I've put away shorts and pulled out tall boots and sweaters, but I'll enjoy this transition season as much as I can.

Very blah, and frustrated. This week at dawn it's in the low 60s, and by mid-afternoon it's in the mid-90s. It is NO FUN to try to dress for swings like that. Yesterday I wore booties, leggings, mini skirt, and open-weave sweater and just dealt with the heat on the walk to the (hot) car. Today I just gave up; at least there wasn't a wind on my bare legs. Right now the temp is 65, with a projected high of 97.

Honestly, the thing that gets me down most is not being able to open the windows in my house. I love the feel of a nice breeze, but once it gets over 78 it just heats too much. 97 is ridiculous.

It's still getting into the 90s here in the afternoon, and that would be fine because I love hot weather, BUT I have a couple of cute new sweaters and some fine-looking boots that I'm busting to wear. So yes - frustrating!

I feel your pain on this one. I am In SW Florida and so far my only nod to fall has been to wear animal print booties to work a couple of times. Due to the AC, my office can sometimes get a little chilly. When I am out and about on the weekends, however, it is still sandals and short sleeve tee shirts for me.

I'm on the west coast, but I sympathize too. We're having a heat wave with temperatures near 90 this weekend even within normally chilly San Francisco. I can't wait for it to cool off enough for lightweight sweaters.

It's a little cool in the mornings here where I live, but hot by the afternoon. I have to wear layers, and get into summer clothing when I get home from work.

In the same horrid boat as all of you. In India, it's yet to cool down. 30-34deg C right now (85 to 94F).

Still wearing my summer wardrobe - dresses, shorts, skirts etc. Hope it'll cool down soon!!

We are still having temps in the 80's but to me it does feel a bit like fall. Without the humidity it feels so much cooler than it did in true summer. I've been wearing a number of new things that are fall colors but fairly lightweight. I've put away all my sandals and true summer clothes. I am ready!!!

I just got a laugh! I was looking up some weather records, to see if we'd set any records for the daily high temperatures this week. Nope! We were within a few degrees, but we haven't even tied any. But to give an idea of the extreme and sudden variation that's "average" around here...

Record high temp for Oct 03: 106F, in 1951
Record high temp for Oct 13: 97F, in 1910
Record high temp for Oct 14: 99F, also in 1910

Record low max temp for Oct 29: 34F, in 1925

Record low temp for Oct 29: 31F, also in 1910
Record low temp for Oct 30: 24F, in 1917

I love playing with numbers that are so wacky. Given a set like that, you can end up with an "average" temperature that is totally meaningless.

You gals have my sympathy! This is the exact opposite of what I feel in my climate: in March, April, even into May when everyone else is getting cheerful weather and strutting in their spring duds I will be stuck in my fall clothes while it continues (and continues) to be below 50F and raining. I usually purchase a few "heavy spring" pieces specifically for those months as a refresher.

Here in my part of the SF Bay Area it typically stays quite warm until the last week of October. Then it usually turns to fall. Remember the Oakland fires of 1991? They began October 19th and the temps were in the high 90s. Since we live in the foothills, as do both of my sisters, we'll let out a relieved sigh once fire season is over.

I have put away many of my summer clothes, but it is still too warm to start wearing wool or heavier fabrics.

Waiting for the rains. Had our storm drains repaired in anticipation. Maybe I should think again about shopping for a raincoat.

Carter, in Sarasota, where I live, high 70's IS Fall! In fact pretty wintery, lol . When are you coming?
Peri, I get frustrated too, as it has been in the high 80's Farenheit, Sigh... I handle it by wearing my darker shorts, tops and short sleeved dresses. Then I feel a little more like fall than in my usual bright tops ( hot pink, bright green, orange, lemon yellow). Some overcast days I can get by with wearing cotton pants, but no jeans yet. Happily for me, I am going to visit my daughter in Raleigh this week, so jeans and sweaters will be a fun break!
