I just added *TWO* light blue mens inspired button down shirts into my wardrobe - one is a light blue and white stripe, the other is a plain light blue - both with starched white collars and cuffs. Stiff, rigid and very buttoned up.

I used to wear light blue quite a bit back in the '90s along with black and white. I saw these boyish shirts and just instantly fell back in love (especially because Greg really likes me in light blue). Snapped them up immediately. And am wearing one today. (Team Wear).

It was a fun shopping experience :).

Anyone else having nostalgic shopping flashbacks?

Those sound lovely and I would bet that light blue would look spectacular on you!

For me, it's been wearing looser clothes in general. Reminds me of the '90s when I wore lots of loose stuff. I have also been way into neon yellow lately, but I was never into neon the first time around, so I can't really chalk it up to nostalgia :).

Yes, I remember pattern mixing with emerald green in 1986. I could wear those clothes all over again -- big oversized patterned silk shirt and striped cropped leggings. That would be a cute look again now.

Yes! I'm loving the menswear inspired oxfords--a flashback to my late '80s, 17 year old self. So much fun! Can't wait to see you in your button downs.

Does it count if it's an item held in the recesses of my closet for several decades and then pulled back out to finally be worn again? If so, my chiffon tiered skirt from Contempo Casuals probably circa 1989 or maybe 1990. At about year 1997 I stopped wearing it, but knew I didn't want to part ways. Pulled it out again New Year's Eve for a low key dinner at a Chinese restaurant.
Actually copied an inspiration pic, which I've only done 2 or 3 times. Was great fun!

Combat boots! I had a killer pair in elementary school and didn't get back into them until the recent resurgence. Also, baggy pants/jeans, which I wore a lot in high school.

Oh yes, I'm loving light blue big time. When I bought the BB shirt a while back, I remembered how much I loved the color. I am enjoying pairing it with red, so fab.

I just added that Ann Taylor utility shirt I posted a while back, in the light blue as well.

I love all of the vintage-looking styles that remind me of what I wore in the '70s. I recently bought some wide-legged pants, which I wear with high-heeled platform sandals.

Had it not been for my mom, I would not have gotten through the '80s with much flare. She sewed for me and either left the shoulder pads out or just put in small ones. That kept me from looking like a linebacker. I did love the peplum tops, and am overjoyed to see them again--without shoulder pads, of course.

I hated everything about '90s fashion and was glad to see that decade come to an end.

Skinny jeans are that way for me and take me back to early 1980's when we thought pegging our Levis was the coolest trend out of Europe. I have not veered into black leggings territory even though I bought a pair - they have yet to be worn.

Angie - I wore those shirts all through the 80's with my suits (skirts) as a banker. My fave was "french blue" with my black suit. I loves the white cuffs & collar on both men & women & glad to see them making a comeback.

It's funny - I rec'd. the most "compliments" on my 80's work fashion style of matching suits, pumps, button down shirts than any other time in my life. I've never been able to really find a style groove since the 80's LOL. I'm not stuck there but sure do miss my "uniform"

I am feeling very back in love in these skinny jeans i just posted for K/R... the looks is very similar to some guess jeans i had in 6th grade that i thought were the cats meow!

ETA: ut oh... does reverting to your 12 yr old self make them a return?

I'm really loving trousers with a wider leg again, looser fitting jeans too, and I've never stopped liking the shirts you are talking about, so I can see one popping up in my closet in the near future too:-)

The light blue stripe and white collar and cuffs look amazing with black, don't they. Very crisp!

After YEARS of "statement" necklaces, I'm suddenly excited about earrings again. (It may be because I have a pixie haircut for the first time since the 1990s--and it is also starting to get warm!)

I pulled out a bunch of sterling dangle and chunkier hoop earrings I've had in storage for 10+ years, and I've been wearing a different old friend every day for the past few weeks. I've also been poking around ebay looking at vintage Navajo and Mexican earrings . . .

Oh yes, quite a few as I have lived through more fashion decades than some of the members of the community (I'm in my fifties). The latest for me was the chambray shirt. I found one that is a little dressier than the Ralph Lauren version I sported in the 90's and will wear it with cropped white toothpick jeans and some skirts this time around.
Sometimes it's "been there done that" but other times it is so great that an item that suited you in the past reappears on the fashion scene.

Slouchy jeans! Remember when jeans were not skin tight and didn't show butt-crack? Also oversized tops and chunky shoes, which I never abandoned.

I'm attracted to the structured handbags similar to ones that I remember my mother and grandmothers using that could stand by themselves. I also like the early 60's dresses with darts and shaping. It must be that I need more structure.

I got a really old-fashioned hair cut that I haven't sported since early in high school. Would that count? Because I thought I'd hate it, but was surprisingly happy walking out of the salon and all of the last couple of days --- though today I have a few doubts again...

It's shoes with me: 70s style linen wedge espadrilles (with the tie-ups around the ankle), 70s style heeled clog sandals, 40s style wedge sandals, and I still have a pair of granny-does-combat boots (Fluevog) in my closet from the 90s.
And bags: I have a vintage 80s-90s messenger style bag from Coach that I wear all the time (actually, I have 2 -- navy and red).

Loose tops with slim bottoms. Skinny jeans are a staple in my wardrobe now but when I wear one with a tunic top I"m reminded of wearing loose long tops with leggings in the 80s.

Don't laugh, but ever since Amy posted her "Miami Vice" outfit, I can't stop thinking about beautiful pale colours.

I've spent years buying and wearing too much black or otherwise dark clothing - and somehow, after seeing Amy's Miami Vice WIW post, I went and looked up some You Tube videos featuring Miami Vice music, and all of a sudden, I'm thinking, "Gee...that off-white linen-y jacket with the pale blue shirt looks really good!" and so on.

I have been very resistant to pale colours - reminds me of my Mom trying to get me to wear pale pink, cream and pale blue all the time. But, I must admit - these colours are starting to look very good to me right now. Even the pale jeans. It all seems fresh to me, somehow. No, I'm not buying/wearing this stuff - but I do find these colours and styles very appealing.
