Just found out today that Im going to a fundraiser event. I dont know anyone thats going and the invite didnt have what type of attire to wear. Sooo what do i do lol... Mind you this is completely out of the norm for me so im slightly panicking haha

What type of fundraising? What time of day? And what is your climate like?

I would Google the event to see if there is any information on the web site regarding the fundraiser. If this is an annual event, they may have images from the previous year's event - which would be a useful guide. Failing that, if there is an RSVP telephone number or email address, I would simply send an email requesting details of the dress code, I'm sure you will not be the only one wondering what the dress code is.

It is for an at risk youth program. It starts at 6 tonight. And louisiana it will probably in the mid 70s tonight

Where will the event be held and what type of event is it? Examples: sit-down dinner at a hotel or country club, theme party and auction at an event center or community center, etc.

Ive tried looking online to find photos, but I cant seem to find anything. Thats a good idea about just emailing. Thats probably what ill end up doing.

I would dress as I normally would to go out to dinner at a nicer place with business associates or friends.

Those kind of events in my area (casual dress) are times when you see a little of everything, all of it dressy. I'd say that women are usually dressed like they were attending a wedding. You can't go wrong in a LBD and some bling. I like to wear my black silky tuxedo pants and jacket with a sequin-covered tank and strappy low heels. It tends to fall in the middle dressy-wise.

Aww, I totally hear you on the "if I need to wear more than jeans.."

If it was me I would first, try to get out of my own head, it's not about me, it's about kids in need, and that's the focus.

Then I would aim for respectful and appropriate, so no jeans, sneakers or t shirts.

If I can master the first two I would aim for also feeling super attractive but unless this is some kind of date or something I'd be trying to get myself into the right frame of mind.

Think wedding, not church, lol. People used to dress up to go to church. Nowadays, not so much. I'd go with a LBD and appropriate accessories.
