It was so annoying yesterday for me to put on my (fairly) new yellow cashmere cardigan that I've only worn twice and realize that it somehow developed a hole on the arm right above the elbow. It was very noticeable so I took it off.
Is there any way to rescue it? I know that there's a company in DC that you can send it to and they will reknit it for you but there's along waiting list. My local dry cleaners can fix the wholes only by sewing them so it's visible. I had this done on a black cashmere sweater but the whole was in the the underarm seam and therefore not visible. This one is in plain sight plus it's a tissue weight cashmere so it would be very apparent. The sweater is from Gap and obviously not the greatest quality, but still!
I don't know how this happened. I haven't washed the sweater yet, we don't have any moths to my knowledge, and I'm certain I haven't snagged it somewhere. Last time I wore it ( a few weeks ago) it was OK and now I put it one and there's the hole sorry for venting, I am really bummed.
