I've done a long overdue Fall/Winter closet clean out and I'm taking 34 items to a consignment store appointment tomorrow. I've done this a few times in the past with this store and had a decent experience, but I don't expect her to take more than about 1/3 of it.
I'm not emotionally attached to having her take the things...I figure it's a learning experience for me. I tend to hang onto things too long so my attitude is that anything she thinks no one will buy even at consignment prices is too worn or dated for me to be wearing either. Those things will be dropped off at a donations store on the way home.
To give them the best chance though, I've:
- Hung everything on matching hangers.
- Steamed out all the wrinkles in sweaters that were stored folded.
- Taken a close look at everything to make sure I didn't miss anything like a stain or tear.
Any other advice for making these things look tempting and well presented?
Thanks!
