On my birthday weekend I found both the long sought after maxi dress and cutout booties. Double score!!
It does not escape me that these were in-person try ons in B&M at Nordie's and many, many of my recent failures have been mail ordered.

i'm having a great shoe year! i've gotten 3 pairs of flats that i love, black patent pointy toe, navy cut outs, and white patent with silver pointy toe tips. plus the nude d'orsay's i posted as a k/r today (and based on the feedback, will keep). also a pair of mary janes and a pair of cut out booties from the nordies sale that just arrived yesterday, .
also found some great summer toppers that work in my office, but are more casual then a traditional blazer.
loving the BF trend. and i'm starting to embrace the wide leg trouser again.

I've been buying up loads of stuff lately actually. I really like this fashion season.

I keep finding florals that I adore.
Managed to find not one, but two pairs of cutout boots (the black combat boots and the silver buckle ones) despite early failures.
Just won an ebay auction for the discontinued cherry red patent color (that I've been stalking for ages) of my favorite Naot sandals.
Snagged the awesome pink Vera Wang dress for a steal at Marshalls, and it's already been worn to 2 formal events.
And of course, I score TWO fabulous hats in England - the fancy navy one with feathers and a straw hat that actually fits on my giant head.
I'm actually seeing loose waistless sack and slip dresses in stores lately, which is always a summer must for me and is not always easy to find.

I've seen some people lamenting the resurgence of 90's style lately. Well, I LIKE 90s style so I guess it makes sense that I'm doing really well this season.

So, yeah, my only problem this season is that I feel like I need to rein in my spending a little bit. Because I want to buy everything in sight.

PS - and in terms of actually wearing things, this lovely skirts + boots weather we have been having has lasted quite a long time (today's super cold and damp weather notwithstanding).

I can't find my perfect white sandals, but that's minor. No sturm und drang here. I feel like I've been in a pretty decent style mode lately, despite the arrival of summer weather. The Zara sarong shorts were a pleasant surprise that got me considering some different shorts styles this summer, so that's nice. And even without white sandals, I'm finding something to wear on my feet with my outfits every day, so it's all good.

I'm just thrilled in general to finally be wearing lighter colors and fabrics for spring. I was wearing snowboots into March and winter coats into April. I've made some fun footwear additions, too--Kenneth Cole black and white stripe slip-on sneakers and Sofft (pretend there's an umlaut over the o) black sandals. And my plantar fascitis is much better than it's been for a year, so maybe I can actually wear my new footwear more expected.

I'm going to also post separately because I want to thank Janet, and I also feel a big closet happy post coming on, but I am doing better with shopping than I have in years. But thank you for this idea! Nice to see some happy going around!

Specifically for your post I will say that I found palazzo pants in a solid dark color so I'm on cloud nine...extremely soft, cool and thin material for the heat, wide leg for my comfort, and the dark makes them wearable for me. I knew I'd never be comfortable in the printed, trendy ones, but these make me super happy.

I found an extremely comfortable pair of athletic sneakers (brand is called Salomon) in a happy light colour. Will test drive them asap, and if they are as fab as they currently feel, I'll be wearing them for my city trip to London. And for lots of city walking here at home too. I am going to embrace the athletic sneaker look, I need the comfort factor for my feet and back, and am looking forward to trying to make them work for my style.

Thanks to this site, I finally found a pair of boyfriend jeans that I love! AND they were inexpensive too! I usually splurge on jeans and had totally given up on boyfriend jeans, having tried on many pricey pairs and never been happy. Decided to give the gap boyfriends a try after the positive reviews here and they were perfect, an amazing fit and exactly what I wanted. Now I think I'll buy a backup pair in case they get discontinued and anything happens to mine!

I was over the moon at the weekend to find 2 different styles of cropped trousers that fit on the waist. I have duplicated both pairs. They were proof of 'leave no retail stone unturned' as they are from UK store Bon Marche which usually caters for the more mature lady. I made mum carry the bag round the shops I also found several tops and 2 dresses at H&M Yay!! X

Buying a lot and loving a lot of what I'm seeing, check

Being seduced by florals, check, and also geometric triangle and line art patterns, and Rorschach/ink blot ones, and some animal patterns.

Love the 90's and and am loving the shoes which in general have a high comfort factor - have bought turquoise suede oxfords, oxblood patent platform oxfords, many booties, the most comfortable pair of all day wedge heels (Earthies), and I've always loved ankle straps so am collecting one of those in flats and one in heels after careful consideration of the many options.

Loving the variety of skirt silhouettes on sale, and though I'm relatively late to the party -- also loving the loose tunic over skinnies look.

I'm very near the end of what I can spend for the year as a result, and I have a LOT of new clothes, but they are all getting worn, and they are bringing a lot of former closet orphans out to play with them (like summer dresses I bought two years ago). I love mixing seasons/styles/genres and that it's cool to do that now. I think that's why I'm also nodding at what Rachy says about not needing to buy anything, since so many clothes from previous years work now too.

Oh and moto jackets -- I'm watching like a hawk for more of these to move to clearance...

So here's what is right for me. I broke my foot a couple of months ago, probably because I had a wedding, major business event and graduation to attend. Outdoor wedding was this weekend. I needed pants that minimized footwear impact, but had elegance. I thought I'd be in orthopedic clunky black sneakers, but was able to wear my Cole Haan Alisa slim-fitting oxfords in matte gold metallic and carry my last year's Angie pick white Sondra Roberts resin clutch. With the help of reviews on Nordie's site I found the right pants (http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ko.....t&con), with help from Angie I found the right top- the now sold out at Piperlime BCBGMAXAZRIA Ayanna oversized scarf shirt in dusty pink and the tuxedo style topper http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ch.....rsonalized. My husband loved the outfit and raved all day about the addition of color to my dressy wardrobe. He couldn't believe I had that much "luck" internet shopping as I was housebound for quite awhile. I told him I had help from YLF. I usually spend more time choosing items for such events in local shops, but was delighted to land somewhere that worked without leaving home. Lots of gratitude here.

With all the drama around our move/relocation, I haven't had resources (money, time) for clothes shopping. However I've been super-duper happy with my clothes, and have put together many 'high happiness' outfits. In particular the travel capsules for the monthly week-long trips have been comfortable and the right kind of stylish for what I've been doing.

Scores for 2014 are my purple leather jacket, pointy toe flats in red and black, and white jeans. I've also purged the last of my really worn out clothing, so no more embarrassment due to shabbiness of an item.

Sandals and a new bag are on my shopping list, but otherwise I'm sorted for the summer.

I truly walk into my closet and love all my stuff every. single. morning. I feel sooooo fortunate that I am in this position. I love fashion, and I love having fun with fashion. I love wearing my clothes, and I love spreading fashion joy. I love helping other people find their fashion joy.

And what Diana said. BEST SEASON EVER since I moved to the US. I want to buy everything in sight, but have to stick to my budget. That's fun too. I appreciate it more when I had to save up for something.

And I found gorgeous pretty blush bra and knickers in my size. YAY.

Oh. And I'm going to be doing the big white athletic sneaker look with dresses for a hot weather walking holiday in August. (I MUST save my feet so that I can wear pretty shoes with clients on 10 hr shopping days). That's going to be a fun little challenge too. I'm trying to find the right big white athletic sneakers now - and will throw in the Sporty Pretty with each outfit.

Let's see. I found another my-lips-but-better lipstick, 2 tops in my colours to try fluid fit, 2 plaid a-line skirts (wanted to add more plaid), a new workhorse skirt silhouette, a summer top in my pink, a pretty dress in my pink, my first coloured cardigan, a fur-trimmed cardigan (long term wishlist), low heeled oxfords (long term HEWI), a colourblocked item, a replacement everyday brown pencil skirt, and a dressy 50s silhouette fitted top/flared skirt dress.

Great thread idea, Anna! We need the equivalent of fashion happy moments each season, I think.

I've found some really fun items this season that I'm enjoying the heck out of: two pairs of Paul Green shoes, a pair of denim ballet flats by AGL, a navy bag to go with the ballet flats, new pants made by me that I love, a coat that is like a streamlined anorak in my favorite olive--oh, and several other pieces in the perfect olive spectrum for me, which I've scooped up because the color is a favorite.

The other thing I'd say is that I'm feeling a little over my ideal weight right now, and some things don't quite fit as they used to. But I'm strangely not distraught over it; I'm enjoying wearing the clothes that do fit and not stressing over the ones that don't. That feels really good.

Oh, yes - lots of happiness here too. I found some great casual pants and tops from the Lou & Grey line at LOFT, comfy commuting wedges that don't allow my pants to drag on the ground, flat sandals by Born, a couple of dresses at BR, a midi skirt, yoga pants with a short inseam from Kohl's....and I need to stop.

Yes, While shoping in a thrift store found the perfect for me red fringe dress. The last time I wore a dress was 2001. I compeletly fell head over heels.

Next, maxi skirt love at a recent clothing swap it made me so happy I went to the beach in it and the same day it rained and I danced in the rain.

The happiness factor in both of these outfits is through the roof. As a rule I don't wear girly stuff but how could I not love these.

also this is the season of the cut out shoe so I'm stocking up.

I've been away in a cool climate (where it was literally snowing up to a week ago) so I haven't really participated a whole lot in spring fashion yet. But I was super happy with my travel capsule -- it worked for all the varied activities (and bizarre weather conditions) that this trip threw at me, and I never felt at a loss. I especially loved my white Hi-Ness Cons -- they worked for most everything except serious hiking in snow or muck or super dress up. I also ADORE my new Reiss jacket -- well worth the long wait to find it.

And I'm looking forward to jumping into a little spring shopping!

I did my closet switch out today and discovered a need for tops and slouchy shorts. Also, I'll need a casual sandal and possibly another summer sandal or shoe as well.

I discovered, after doing another closet purge, that I don't have to stress out about doing SYC. I don't have a lot of clothes at the moment and I'm definitely going to wear an uniform in the next few months, but I feel great wearing the things I have left. I think I even rediscovered some items and how useful they can be!

Oh I'm a very happy camper! I started a new job with a REALLY nice bathroom, in giant contrast to the last one I had to suffer (thank you god of indoor plumbing) so with luck I may be posting again soon!
