Anxiety Shopping

Sooooo if you have been reading my posts, you know that I have been offered a job at A Large Corporate Technical Firm. My entire background is in entertainment media. I do not know what to expect, really, plus new jobs are nervous-making.

Since clothing is my armor defense, of course I want to shop! But I'm not there yet! But I want to look good right away!

Am I nuts or does anyone else do this?

You are not nuts. Weren't you the one who busted me for pre-travel shopping, as in: "Oh my, I am going on a trip, I have to have exactly the right outfits!!!" Guilty as charged.

I didn't do it for my new job last year only because I work from home. Heh.

But I did do it the minute I had to actually go somewhere and meet my colleagues in the flesh. Luckily I didn't buy anything nutty.

No, you're not nuts! It could be fun to get to develop a whole new "corporate persona". You will look amazing. Do you have the first day's outfit picked out yet?

Well, you didn't mean to bust me. You just innocently asked the question, but I felt well and truly busted!

Claire has a good idea. Play around with first day outfits to see what you can do. I have a strong suspicion they won't require you to dress really corporate. And if you do buy stuff, make sure it will work for crossover for later on. I mean make sure you actually like it.
