Antje- Loehmann's for jeans?

I'm on a seemingly endless jeans hunt- so advice from any and all is appreciated.

Antje- I think you posted that you recently went to Loehmann's- before I hike out there, can you tell me about their jeans selection. I've been on a hunt for straight or bootcut dark jeans and it always takes me a while to find something to fit my pear-shaped long torso, but budget contraints are making it even harder than usual. I've stalked Marshalls and TJ Maxx, since they do get in premium denim, but nothing so far has fit. I'm somewhere around a size 4.

Any and all suggestions appreciated- after this weekend I may just give up and hit the Gap.

Sinead, I don't know anything about Loehmann's , but have you tried Nordstrom Rack? Their selection really varies, but I've seen some decent premium jeans there, usually about half price.

Hmm, if you are around a size 4 you may find that at places like TJMaxx, Loehman's and the Rack that you have less to choose from. That's been my experience, at any rate. There is always less selection in the smaller sizes (except the tiniest of all sizes, the 24's, for some reason). I suspect because the typical woman is around a size 8-10-12 so they make more in these sizes than in 0-2-4?

My suggestion? Go to a place like National Jeans Company or a department store that has a wide variety, try on jeans, find a brand and style that fits, write it down (including the size, wash and any manufacturer's number) then hunt them down online for a cheaper price.

Thanks, Marianne, I've been meaning to get back to the Rack. I stopped in a month or so ago and didn't find anything, jean-wise. Lots of shoes I wanted....

Shiny, I think I'm going to try your idea. I've realized I've been at this for weeks, and it's starting to get silly. Your right, all those discount places have very few small sizes but I keep hoping to get lucky. I guess I should be happy there is another option (online shopping). I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes. We don't have a National Jeans Co around here- but I'll hit up the dept stores this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Arggh- jeans shopping! So ready to be done!
