Anthropologie Orphans - Keep or Toss?

So I'm a sucker for the Anthropologie sale rack. Too often I end up with items that I just can't seem to work into my wardrobe. Here are two that I'd love for a consensus on--keep or toss? If keep, I really don't know how to wear them, so I'd really appreciate ideas. In the photos, I just tried to at least pair them with the appropriate type of bottom for their shape, but in general I feel like I have no idea how to wear them in a truly flattering, sophisticated way. What do you all think? (By the way, this time I used a Photobucket account since IE doesn't play well with my .Mac account, so for those of you who couldn't view my last pics, these should work.)

Hi Amy...I think the brown top looks nice the way you are wearing it. It would also look nice with cream pants for the fall/winter--and a bright cami--like orange--underneath.

The blue top is confusing me. It's kind of short to wear with jeans--not sure if a longer cami underneath, the way you did with the brown top, would help? Or maybe try it with a straight skirt?

I think both jackets are cute and would look good over a turtleneck that hits lower on the hips than the jacket does.

I do not prefer the blue jacket. It’s quite “clown-like” worn this way. It might look better with a longer layer underneath and layers poking out on top and through the armholes, but I have my reservations. Prove me wrong and show us a picture?

Brown jacket will look nice over a skirt. Do you have one?

Hi Amy - I too like the brown jacket but probably a better length for a skirt than pants. I would vote for tossing the blue.

Thanks for the feedback. I had to smile when I read "vote the blue off the island." It makes it so much easier to put it in the pile for Salvation Army now! I had never thought of a skirt for the brown jacket, but I like that idea. What kind of shape would it need to have? I don't have much variety in a complimentary color, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Hi Amy, what does the brown jacket look like with a lower neckline for the layer underneath? As for skirt shape, I would say pencil skirt or simple a-line skirt would work. Do you have a denim skirt to try with it?

Hmm...I don't think I have a skirt at the moment that it will work with. I have a couple grey skirts, black skirts, one navy and one red--I don't think either of those will work. The only skirt I have that coordinates color-wise is one of those peasant brown skirts from a couple of years ago. I confess I have kept one well beyond when they were in fashion. I wear it with knee-high brown boots and a round neck sweater on rainy days. I can't imagine this jacket working with the tiered peasant skirt. I think the denim skirt is a great suggestion. I'll keep it in mind as I shop over the next few weeks/months.
