Hee hee -- yes, it was me! I wasn't as much seriously considering buying it as I was questioning whether it was fabulous or just strange. Still can't quite decide, but it was comforting to see that a number of bloggers are grappling with the same question...

The one that mentioned shoulder pads adding to the jacket's general tweedy bulk is probably the one that I should pay attention to. I do *not* need to add width to my shoulders, which are already 25% wider than my hips when viewed straight-on.

Hi all! I found this forum because I am one of the bloggers who reviewed the jacket. I kind of have quirky taste but I thought it was very nice in person. It is definitely a little odd and probably not too versatile for the price so I am trying to wait for a sale.

If anyone has any specific questions about the jacket, I am the blogger who tried a size 8 and am happy to answer specific questions.

Of course you can call me Jess! Thanks so much for linking me. It led me to this forum which is very cool. I'm curious about its origins. I found the intro thread already but how do you all know each other/how did you come together? Is there an FAQ or an "about us" page I can read? I want to make sure I follow the protocol for the site and what not. I know a lot of fashion forums like Make Up Alley and The Purse Forum have rules and decorum so I want to make sure I adhere to anything like that if it exists.

Well, the "youlookfab" blog is run by Angie Cox and her other half Greg. You can read about them here:

They also started this forum. All the other women on the forum just stumbled upon it at some point when they were looking for fashion advice on the web and became hooked! There is really no protocol. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
