I decided to return the wrap top I recently tried from Anthro — I just couldn’t embrace the puff sleeves, and I felt like the sleeve alteration was not worth it when I have so many tops already... but while I was there, I sucked up my courage and tried on some pants. I should have known that if I want pants, Anthro is where I should go first.
I think I love these! I was completely shocked when I put them on. So many patterned pants seem to only make my hips and legs look even larger than they are, but somehow these seem magically flattering. The fit is so great. I wish they made these in more colors/prints!
The website calls the color “gray” but to me the background color seems more of a cool brown. It’s not the easiest color scheme for me to match from my wardrobe, but I think I have some possibilities for tops. Would it work with black tops even though there is no black in the print? There are some dark olive tones in the print as well, so I think one of the two olive-tones jackets I have may work. Please ignore tired face and lack of attention to straightening and smoothing out tops in these photos — it was late last night and I was doing this quickly. The color is a little off because of the lack of light too.
The length is a little short on me. Rolling them is not a great solution because the underside is white, not patterned. But I like them with booties.
What do you think? I am quite sure I’m keeping them, just curious about styling ideas. Keep in mind I am not maximal, so I will tend to keep the rest of an outfit with these pants very simple and low contrast — solid tops and jackets, and more subdued footwear. My default would be black top/black boots, but again, not sure if it works when there is no black in the print.
I also got the second pair shown in the Finds — the SA advised me to size down as they supposedly stretch a bit with wear, so I’m going to try wearing around the house for a bit when I have a chance before taking photos. These are narrower cut but I love the print.
