Anthro dress, not sure on shoes?

Hi everyone,
I bought this dress at Anthropologie. I really like it. I plan to wear it with the turquoise jacket if it is cool inside AC.
The shoes are not perfect but do not know what would work.
These are comfortable, too hot for pumps and I thought nude would wash out with the color of the dress and necklace. Black seemed too harsh.

What do you think of the dress? Suggestions for shoes or are these ok?

Hi Jean! I really like the dress, too. I know what you mean about pumps being too hot in this weather! I think the sandals are okay and definitely work because of the necklace. You are right about black being too harsh and nude being too "meh" with the dress. The shoes need to stand up to depth of color in the jacket and I think these make the cut. I would think a russet brown might work too, or a rust color?

I actually bought and returned that dress, in the cobalt blue color. Kari has the cobalt blue version. I do love it, but it looked too provocative on me, since I'm pretty curvy. It looks amazing on you, however.
I do think the dress is more of a winter item, due to the weight of the fabric. Unlike you, I happen to like the heavy contrast between mustard with black. I also like it with red and cobalt blue. I think the blazer you chose looks great too. That dress works better with a topper in a knit material as well.

great points. I would definitely wear this with black boots in the winter but with my pale legs and the time of year, I did not think it worked. i wore this dress on a cool summer evening and the material was perfect. I think because of the color and cut it can be worn all seasons.
The knit is not a woolen material or look, IMO.

Jean, this is truly gorgeous --- but I do think the shoe looks a bit more casual than the rest of the ensemble. Maybe it is the contrast of the brown soles/footbed? Do you have any sandals that are more tonal or with a lighter colour of footbed/sole/wedge?

The colour combination is fabulous however!

Beautiful choice, Jean. You wear so wonderfully all the colors that go to war with my skintone, so I get to enjoy them through you! I love the contrast with the jacket and the color of the shoes is fab. Mostly, I think a "stronger" shoe or sandal would anchor and balance a little bit better, but I'd never think, "shame about the shoes" if I saw you out and about. I'd think, "She looks amazing!"

A well fitting sheath is so versatile!

Ditto what Angie said re cognac; are you a fan of purple too? It can look striking with that tone of yellow. Love the dress on you, it fits like a dream.

I really like the red sandals with this. They're heeled right? I'm wondering what you (and others) are seeing that I'm not. Perhaps it translated better in the photo than IRL for you?

Nice. I think the sandals work well, myself, although a rust or cognac would be stunning. Burgundy would also be a possibility, especially in cooler weather.

Are the sandals the Panyas from Naturalizer? I am haunting their website, waiting for the sand coloured ones to go on deep discount. I tried them on instore, but they didn't have my size in. I don't really need them now (having bought a couple of other pairs), so I can't justify the expense until they're dirt cheap. ;o) I didn't much like the look of them, but once they were on my feet, I was really impressed!

I love the dress (amazing!) and the jacket, but my first thought was also that a reddish brown strappy sandal would work best. To me there is just too much of a gap between the very casual language of these sandals and the rest of the outfit.

A metallic bronze or copper sandal might be nice here, if you could find one that hit the right note for your style. Lovely dress, jacket and necklace!

Jean, that dress looks incredible on you. I do indeed have the cobalt blue color, but unfortunately the zipper on mine is a bit sticky. Do you have trouble with yours at all?

I love the idea of cognac or burgundy too, and adore the teal blazer with the dress.

Gorgeous dress, Jean! I think cognac or gold sandals would be lovely neutral options, and peacock, cobalt, or kelly green would be fun color options.

Thank you everyone, I love the suggestion of cognac or burgundy sandals, I do not have any but will look. The summer season is short so I may not get them until next summer. I know I can style this dress for this fall with boots or pumps.

Kim, I think the red sandals are a bit too casual with the teal jacket and the color is not quite right with the necklace, it either has to match more or less. I think that with a different necklace and maybe a wood bangle, they would work well. I do not hate them with the dress, just looking for better options.
