Another "name my body type" thread.

Hello all! I'm a new member and I'm trying to make a sincere effort to dress for my body type. I'm still learning all of the lingo, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm almost 5'6'', 130 lbs. I don't have much in the curves department, and while I like my slightly-longer-than-average legs, I'm not as much of a fan of my shorter-than-average torso (in this picture, those are not high waisted shorts).

So what the heck am I?

My first guess would be rectangle. However it would help if u could post a pic in all black or a straight dress. I think the outfit is throwing me off. Cute outfit btw!

It's a little hard to tell without a picture of you in more form fitting clothes. It looks like you are either an hourglass or a rectangle. That's my opinion. You have a nice figure!

First of all, you have a great frame for clothes, so this should be fun. Your shirt is hiding your waist so I can't see if you have definition there or not. You could be a cross between a rectangle and an hourglass. You don't look like you have a tummy (but often you can't see them from the front view). You might only need to address your short torso for dressing challenges....like buy up low-rise everything while it's available, lol! I personally would kill for those long legs.

Thank you all, y'all are too sweet. I will try to find a picture with more form-fitting clothes (or at least all black).

I don't think I'm broad shouldered. I do occasionally wear blazers with built-in shoulder padding (not 80s padding, just a little bit!), and they don't seem broad even when I do that.

My first instinct for myself was also rectangle. I have barely-there curves so I wasn't sure if that qualified as hourglass at all.

Welcome! I have a short torso also so even mid rise pants feel high to me aka they go over my belly button so I feel your pain. It's hard to tell from the picture, how about another picture with some measurements! Anyhow I would guess you're a rectangle too.
