Aww Suz, I'm sorry this trip is for such a sad reason. It looks like you've chosen comfortable, easy-to-wear pieces, which should serve you well. Could you use a soft sweater or wrap?
Oh, sweet Suz. How sad, and my thoughts are with you. I know you’ll be of the utmost support to your Aunt in your casually chic, practical and polished outfits. Much love to you.
(Wearing our TopShop dress right now. With red loafers and light blue denim jacket. SNAP).
I’m sorry you’re traveling for such a sad purpose, but I’m glad you can make the trip. It’s been said here before - having a cohesive wardrobe really helps for last minute travel like this, whether it’s a farewell visit, time in a hospital, or a funeral. I’m glad you could throw together a good capsule.
I’m so very sorry suz. These visits are so precious but so hard. I’m sending hugs and beaming strength. Beautiful capsule. You have a fantastic and cohesive wardrobe. It’s a blessing to be able to dress like “you” so you can forget about clothes and just be yourself and fully in the moment. Sending prayers to you and your family.
Thank you all for such kind wishes. Elizabeth, this aunt is in Oakville. So no meetup. For you and me, alas. The bottom I’ll wear with tops is my J Crew liberty skirt. And the striped sweater is really only for AC environments. It’s hot and humid here. Denim jacket may not get wear either except on train and in hospital. My aunt is there now and we are awaiting news on whether she will go home or to hospice.
I am so sorry for your aunt’s diagnosis. Your visit will no doubt be important for both of you. May you both be comforted by the loving bond you share. Your capsule is excellent and with ready outfits, it will make a sad time a little easier. Wishing you the best.
Your aunt has my deepest, deepest compassion and sympathy. I hope she is surrounded by loving, caring people. Sharing time with her will comfort her. Best wishes to your entire family.
safe travels. last August I spent the final seven days of my mom's life with her. much laughter spliced between profound grief, the missing started then, for both of us. may your time be filled with presence and cherishing.
I'm sorry to hear this Suz, and hope your visit brings you both some peace and comfort. Your travel capsule looks great - but don't forget some pants or a skirt
I saw denim jackets everywhere in Toronto at our summer trade show, and I have a renewed commitment to find one that works for me.
So sorry to hear about your aunt, but it’s so nice that you will be able to visit her before you head out west. Your travel capsule looks stylish and appropriate for a visit in hot and humid weather.
I’m heading off to NJ next week - I guess I’d better start thinking about my travel capsule. Thanks for the reminder!
I'm sure your Aunt will be so pleased to spend time with you. There is something unique and precious about spending time with someone, when you expect it to be your last. It's often less about saying "all the things," and more about being fully present together.
I love seeing the dresses in your capsule -- fabulous!
