Another K/R, and a fun find

Hi friends, wondering what you think of the fit of this white shirt? I recently edited out my old one, a) because it was getting snug and b) because the style of it was too corporate. I wanted to replace it with something a bit more relaxed and comfortable (think Meghan Markle's white shirt game). I am happy with the fabric, etc. but just want to make sure I haven't sized up too much - honest opinions; what do you think? Happy for any feedback!

Also, just for fun - I grabbed these colourful resin hoop earrings on a whim from Joe Fresh. I *think* they would look fun with a minimal white shirt + jeans outfit such as I have on here.

I like it! I prefer my shirts to be about the same level of blouse-y as this. The only thing that would push me to go for a tighter fit would be if I needed to wear a streamlined topper over it. I think it’s a very pretty relaxed look with the hoops.

I think the fit is just right for what you're looking for. The shoulder seams fit, and there isn't too much space happening under the arms, but it still has a blousy, looser fit around the body. I like it a lot, and I think the hoops coordinate with it well!

It looks great and seems to fit your criteria (more relaxed and comfortable). I definitely don't think it looks too loose. Those hoops are gorgeous and will look snappy with your new shirt!

I like this relaxed white shirt and how it fits you, Helena. Those resin earrings are lovely and will be a perfect accent to your new shirt and many othet items in your wardrobe.

If you were my client, I would have liked to see one size down to compare both sizes. A size down might look more polished, but with ample fluidity. Since you are Queen Simple & Minimal Super Polish, I don't want this item edited out by the end of the year because you feel sloppy in the roominess of it

Fab look on you! I would have said the fit is great for that relaxed MM look.
Try also rolling sleeves to under the elbow.
Great earrings. Perfect with the shirt.

What Angie said! I like this look on you--great style, and works nicely with your jeans and flats. And the new earrings! The style might very well offer the looseness you're after in the size down, though, while fitting the shoulder a little better. That said, it doesn't look like a bad fit, or like you're wearing someone else's clothes.

Angie, thanks so much for the suggestion; the store is going to order in the smaller size so I can try it on - if it fits and is still fluid, I'll go with it and return this one. 100% I don't want to be editing stuff out because of hasty decisions or settling, which I do too often, so I appreciate the advice very much.

Shiny, thx ... They are Old Navy and I think the style is called the power jean ... they are a couple of years old so I'm not sure if they have the same style. They are basically straight high waisted crops.

Yes to trying a size down too, and love the hoops. I have similar ones- which I'm sure I'll wear again post masks!

If Angie says try a size down, then who am i to argue, but i like how this one fits, loose and comfy but, to my eye, not so big that it looks like its wearing you instead of the other way around

If you want a slouchy but not oversized fit ,have you thought about trying a tencel shirt,the fluidity in the fabric gives the look you are after.Having said that this is also a very nice shirt on you too.

Lisa/CG - this shirt is a cotton/viscose blend ... so it has the same sort of drape that tencel has, but with a touch more crisp-ness, if that makes sense.

I am interested to see the comparison! This brand fits a little generously compared to others, so it could be that the smaller size will still give me the slouch ... I'll be super-picky and err on the side of a touch loose *thumbs up*

I like to wear my shirts open in a slightly loose way ( with a tank top
under ) and for that purpose your shirt fits great. However if you will be wearing it closed, tucked - you need to see a smaller size for comparison.
Earrings are adorable and perfect for a bit of pop of color!

I like this fit for easy casual -- it doesn't look too big. The earrings are great! I miss wearing hoops and dangly earrings, everything seems to get caught in mask straps.

Super fun earrings! The shirt looks really nice on you, and I’ll be curious to see how the smaller size fits. I always waffle between sizes with shirts. In the past, I used to err on the side of properly tailored, but it’s hard to resist the slouchy cool-girl vibe these days. (Part of me suspects we’ll all emerge from COVID life with way too many oversized clothes and wonder what we were thinking! )

Love the hoops, agree re: trying the shirt in a size down to be sure. It looks like it hits a sweet spot in drape vs crisp.

I love this relaxed fit... relaxed but not too relaxed. Await the size comparison with baited breath!

Love the hoops! I like the fit of the shirt but agree checking a smaller size would be prudent. The main thing I would like to see is slightly narrower shoulder seams that fit you better. Shoulder seams are key to oversized fits for me.

You have the same body type as me and I think we both like classic styles. The one thing with loose clothes on us is that it highlights our straightness. Does the shirt nip in at your waist? If so, then it will be good but I think if it looks boxy it won't work as well. I think you can still get a more relaxed look with change of fabric, but you probably will still want a little bit if definition to look your best.
