another keep/toss: dark denim blazer

I've been acquiring a lot of jackets lately, and I'm thinking I need to make room in my closet. When I did my jacket challenge, this denim blazer was far and away the hardest to style. And I can actually only find 2 WIW photos with it. The first one is from the jacket challenge (when I challenged myself to wear all my jackets) and the second one is from last spring. The other 2 were from my original K/R post, so not in an outfit. I may have worn it a couple of other times that I didn't photograph, but it definitely gets far less wear than my other jackets.

I think the problems are: it is possibly a little too tight for today's styles. I hate denim on denim, so I never wear it with jeans which removes a lot of outfit possibilities. It's not distressed/light/loose enough for a casual look but the denim is not really dressy either.

But I don't have another dark blue/navy jacket. I have bright cobalt and black.

What do you think? Keep or toss?

Toss- you already prove you can live without it 'cause you rarely wear it. It also isn't near as nice as a lot of your other jackets.

I think you have better jackets -- I vote toss!

toss, it is not the objective to have a jacket in each color, but jackets you want to wear!

Jayne makes a great point that was helpful to me. Jackets you wear, not jackets that theoretically go with something. I love jackets and used to collect jackets so I'd have one for every pant; not always matching but "going". But, in doing so, I bought or kept some jackets that weren't fab. It is very hard to have a universal blazer, in my experience, due to issues of length and fit as well as color and fabric, and if I have too many jackets I just can't wear them all enough anyway.

So instead I'm trying to concentrate on having "several" jacket-outfit options, but not endless ones. That way I work out a few of my best happiest outfits and can upgrade/update this smaller number.
