Another hair question!!

I'm in desperate need of a trim and I'm keen to hear some ideas. This is my hair.

It seems to sit well at the back but I really don't like the sides. It seems like it really only has one layer. My hair is quite fine and I have had a lot of hair loss recently post-partum. My criteria is that I want to keep it longish and it needs to be easy care. I tend to wear it tied back in a ponytail mostly out of the way of my babies curious fingers! I was wondering how I would go using a straightener. Or is that high maintenance? I was wondering if I could just blow it dry and then run the straightener through the top bit that tend to go fluffy?

well. I'm by no means an hair expert, but when I want to blow dry my hair I use to:
- firts blow dry
- then run the straightener through the ends
it works, it gives an extra shine!

You could cut to the shoulders and do a side bang?

Actually I like the general idea of your haircut. It seems like it just needs cleaning up. The length and layers seem to work but need to be blended better. To avoid the hair in your eyes/baby fingers, play around with some little clips or bobby pins.

Thanks Rute. I like the idea of trying that. Now first to get a straightener that works, My current one just makes my hair fluffy.

Scarlett, I think you are right about the layers needing to be blended better. That's the bit I'm really not liking at the moment.

An, It does look like the front is disproportionately short compared to the back....tricky to blend. I would have your stylist bring the back up to shoulder length(for pony) and re-shape all the layers..light touch on the front:) Do get a flat iron, it can give hair a more polished look...no need to only use on freshly shampooed and dried hair as it works well on bed head too!!

An I'm definitely leaving the hair stuff up to the others - I'm hopeless with that sort of thing.

And I'm sorry to hijack your thread...but I have a question.

Taylor I have found that if I use the straight iron on my hair when its a bit dirty/oily, I actually tend to get an extra day or so out of it before I need to wash it - is that a common realisation or am I just lucky?
