Another greyish leather jacket - what do you think?

I bought a grey leather jacket a few months ago and have threads on it here:

But I really coveted one from Nordstrom that finally went on sale (50 percent off!). So I bought it! It is actually a darker metallic gunmetal color versus the lighter grey of the other one, and has a moto vibe.

What do you think of it? Do you think it is too similar to the original jacket? BTW, my husband likes the new one. He thinks the lines are better. As you can plainly see, I have not styled it. I do not intend to wear my fuzzy slippers with it!

Love the stitching detail! It seems to serve the same purpose/potentially work with the same outfits of the other one. However, I bought a leather coat (mid-thigh length) nearly 20 years ago. It is still my most favorite item in my closet. If I ever found something like it in grey, chocolate, white or cream, I would definitely duplicate. If it's something you'll love forever, go for it! As pricey as mine was for me at the time, the CPW wouldn't buy a gumball.

Carter, I love it when we find The Single Item that makes our heart sing! I'm not sure if this one does that, but I definitely prefer it to the first one.

I'm not a true moto type, but this jacket doesn't have a lot of hardware, a belt, buckles, or an asymmetric zipper, which aren't my style. But it does have that stitching which is kind of cool. I love the metallic color, but I wonder if that also limits when I could wear it.

They look somewhat similar to me, and may fill similar wardrobe needs. If you live in a climate where you can wear leather jackets enough to justify having two with similar function then I think it's worth keeping especially since you like this one more than the other! The stitching detail on this one along with the color make it look much more special to me

I really like the fit on this one. If you find you are always grabbing this one, maybe you should sell the other. Leather jackets often do well on re-sale.

I really like the new jacket, but i really LOVE the older jacket! I like the simplicity of the older, light grey one a bit better. HOWEVER, the new one IS beautiful and different enough to keep. Is the newer one heavier? I'm wondering if the difference might be the warmth factor (just trying to think of another reason to justify keeping both). I do really like the stitching details on the new one. And I love metallics too Guess I'm not much help.

jackiec, I do appreciate your thoughts! The two jackets are about the same weight. I was thinking the metallic finish might be more delicate and so if I were going somewhere where I might want something sturdier (such as the Santa Pub crawl which I've never gone to but hey, you never know) that the grey one might be better. Also, I do have a tiny worry that the metallic is too out there and I'll only wear the grey one.

Forgive me but just on the visual I prefer the one you already had. BUT this one is fab too. So I say if you think you will wear and enjoy both then you should have both.

I love the richness and depth of the metallic. The other one looks a little flat in comparison. The stitching detail is also really nice. It looks very sleek. I vote to keep the new one!

I love the details on this jacket and the darker gray makes it quite versatile styling-wise, imho.

...and you should totally start a fashion trend of moto jackets worn with fuzzy slippers

kellygirl, thank you. The colors are quite different. The grey one is a bit on the taupe side, whereas the metallic one is a cool color.

leopardluxe, thanks! I love my fuzzy slippers! We thought we were back in summer temps and now it's swung back to winter, with snow in the mountains. I had to turn the heat back on.
