Taking your advice to try these boots with lighter bottoms I have tired them with ny grey Martins (#2) and GAP faded black leans (#1) - the lightest pants I have at the moment. Do they work better with these boots or I need even lighter pants? For a comparison I am adding the picture with dark wash skinnies (#3)

Looking at these pictures I realized with horror that I have to do something with those 5 pounds which somehow crept on me since last summer: otherwise I would need to buy new pants!
