Another cropped sweater over button front

I received this BR sweater yesterday. It's regular, not petite, as the color I liked did not come in petite. Not loving it with the shirt showing in #1 - maybe the petite version would work, assuming it's 1 to 2 inches shorter. Or maybe this sweater is just too boxy for me to like this look. Or the shirt underneath is too straight. Something bugs me about this.
I do, however, like it front tucked into belted trousers so I'm keeping it. I later changed the belt to something lighter as this one seemed to be dragging the pants down in an unattractive way.
The sweater is somewhat lightweight and very easy to layer over a shirt or fitted sweater without sizing up. Also half tucks with no added bulk.
I have another cropped BR sweater on the way - hopefully that will look better with shirttails showing.

I feel just as you feel. I like layering -- if I tuck or faux tuck. I find it far more difficult to deal with not tucking.

And I agree -- this looks better on you in the second version. But then, my eyes are obviously biased on this one. Will be reading along for insight!

I see what you're seeing as well - and even on the model it doesn't look cropped, just at high hip. Maybe it's a length of torso / rise thing?

Okay. I am back again with some thoughts.

What if you tried with a shoe that is toned exactly to the pants. And what if you tried with a slightly slimmer pant. I have this idea that it is somehow easier to do this with a slimmer bottom.

Does this sweater look good with "our" leopard print pants?

I like both versions, Linda. Really cool looks! I love that sweater on you. I think maybe your eye just needs to adjust. Or try a lower contrast shirt, as Angie suggested on Suz's thread.

I actually like both versions. I like the shirt sticking out the bottom and the semi-tucked version. If I had to pick a favorite, I have a slight preference for version #2.

Ooh, nice! I love it with the tuck! I'm also thinking that a white button down might look better if left untucked. The cowl is gorgeous on you!

Lots of good thoughts here, I'm still in training camp so I'm taking notes! But the sweater is beautiful and such a pretty color...I like it half-tucked ... Wouldn't have thought to do that..clever!
