I am searching of a pair of white crops (flare or straight) for the spring. I have lucked out with Express blue version at the beginning of the fall and have been wearing them a lot, so a white version is a no-brainer for the warm weather. I was considering the C/Es Angie had but they are quite pricey and I am on a super tight budget this season. Plus, chances are high that they wouldn't work since they can't be hemmed due to their released hem, and while I am of average height at 5'6" I have short legs/long rise(torso) so need hemming more often than not.
Angie posted a bunch of Loft white jeans as her picks, so I decided to give the cropped kick flares a try. Some posters have previously posted that these are pretty slim in the calf/the flare is not big and that is indeed true. However, that works well for me since I have very skinny calves and prefer smaller flare anyway. The denim is pretty thick and the fit fairly nice, so overall I am pretty pleased with them. The rise is medium. The only issue I have is the waist gap - I accidentally ordered the regular instead of the curvy cut Angie recommended so these (regulars) do gape at the waist. I have just ordered the curvy version to compare too - they are probably going to work better.
So the main question I have is the length of course. These are about 2.5" above my ankle bone, which should be OK, but I am willing to hem them if they would be more flattering. As mentioned, I have short legs, so trying to make them look longer is always a plus. Since I have very long rise petite versions are not an option. I am showing them with both ankle strap and lace-up shoes (both have small 1" wedges) I would wear them with the most. I would also wear them with higher heels.
