I recently posted my success in finding a good basic but great-for-me burgundy tee (from Frame, in Finds below), but also ran across a good sweater as well. The first Find is a openwork knit from Kut that works well for me. It's a bit cropped and has an easy fit (I sized down slightly to a S instead of a M because it was roomy enough in the body and long enough in the arms but had a slightly shorter length that appealed to me). It's quite open and airy, but I like that these days -- heavy sweaters get very little wear in my world any more. It layers nicely over a tank or a short or long-sleeved tee.

I also got the plaid Rails shirt pictured here -- fits right in with Angie's berry tones blog post! I have a couple of plaid shirts but the newest is about ten years old. They still have life in them, but this is a nice update in a color scheme I will enjoy.

Finally, I happened upon these Paige velvet pants and tried them on. I'm pretty sure they are keepers. They're a little on the high-waisted side on me, but they are comfortable and fit great in a size 8. They are super soft and a dark ink blue. Not a stiff velvet fabric but more like a soft drapey velour. There is a matching blazer available too, but I'd already just about maxed out what I want to spend on clothes this season and I'd like to find a top or sweater in forest green. I'm hoping these pants will work with the jackets I already own. I think I can also even dress them down with, say, a sweater or tee and a denim jacket and fashion sneakers.
