Another 40% off promotion at Landsend

Lansend is running another 40% off + free shipping promotion today. It's on the front page of the website. Plus, a lot of their stuff is on sale. I ordered a bunch of turtlenecks for layering (http://www.landsend.com/pp/Sol.....038;sku_0=::BLA&CM_MERCH=search-_-turtleneck&origin=search , about $6 after discounts), some non-iron shirts (http://www.landsend.com/pp/34s.....038;sku_0=::AUT&CM_MERCH=search-_-stretch+shirts&origin=search , http://www.landsend.com/pp/Lon.....038;sku_0=::GNR&CM_MERCH=search-_-stretch+shirts&origin=search ), both long-sleeve and 3/4 sleeve, $12 after discounts. Not sure yet how they will fit (Lansend stuff tends to be baggy) but it's easy to make returns at Sears so I'll give them a try.

Men's cashmere is also on sale - about $60 after discounts for a V-neck sweater, for example. I have to say - I ordered a sweater from them for DH some time ago and did not like the feel of it - a bit scratchy and not very thick. But at these prices they might still be worth a try, especially for everyday wear. I believe the website says they will deliver by Christmas.

Thanks! I went and looked because I'd like a navy sweater (because of Parisian Chic), but guess what I noticed? The 40% off and free shipping is *extended to Canadian orders* too. I haven't ordered anything yet, but I called my Mom and she's buying a bunch of nice plus-size shirts/blouses.

eta: My Mom got *nine* items - free shipping, and her total was only about $200, including duty which was added to her order (convenient). She's very happy.

I am kind of excited about this- my swimsuits from them should be here tomorrow, so once I see how things fit I may place another order. I have some tunics in my shopping bag.
Mary- I have heard that things run larger in general- and you can return for free to a Sears store. It might be worth a try!

MaryK, I agree with Khris - their shirts generally run large. I have a size 8 Landsend shirt that I kept in the closet for years and finally donated this year because it was just too baggy on me whereas I usually have to get an 8 in Ann Taylor just to ensure that there is not too much gaping. I ordered a bunch of shirts with stretch, mostly in 6 and some in 8, and am hoping that at least some will fit. I would like to see some shaping in the waist (like a slightly fitted shape that one would expect from stretch shirts) but some reviewers complain that they are not fitted enough. I figure I will have to stop by Sears anyway so why not give it a try with free shipping.

The sale is on until tomorrow (Monday) -- and I came really really close to ordering a lot. I did realize though that these items might not suit me at the moment (dresses a little too short -- above the knee) so I just ordered a t-shirt I already have in a different color. Down from $28 to $7.79 with free shipping and no tax (going to Canada)! Happy me, hopefully this will satisfy me for now.

Also, I tend to take a smaller size number at Land's End than in other stores. Once you figure out their fit, their stuff is usually pretty good. Canvas fits a wee bit smaller than LE but not necessarily a full size smaller.

p.s. return shipping from Canada is now really convenient -- it's $7.95 deducted from the return amount. They give you a prepaid postage label and you just give it to the post office. Sweet!

This is great, Rosee! I am glad you were able to order something you know you can use.

I can't count the times when I ordered a bunch of stuff from Lands' End only to realize that the clothes are baggy or droopy (happens a lot with their dresses, actually). And then there are other things, like t-shirts, that fit well and are indestructible.

rosee- that's great to know about the return shipping from Canada. My Mom placed her first ever LE order today because I called her (due to seeing this post)...she ordered a bunch of stuff. I'll be sure to tell her that returns aren't that bad either.
