I went into the store today to return an item and pick up something I’d ordered that was available for pickup. I discovered that more items had arrived at the store so did another round of tryons. My normal SA was there. Last Saturday she’d told me that they were waiting for 30% of the merchandise, mostly store brand. Today she told me they’ve finally received everything, including all the Caslon and Halogen.

I returned the black Barbour coat. It’s very nice, but I did a massive coat try on yesterday and realized it functionally duped something I have and like so back it goes. Plus, the Bernardo teal coat arrived last week and I love the color and fit.

I'd ordered this camel cardigan which had been sold out but popped back in and it’s quite nice. It’s very light weight and soft but doesn’t feel cheaply thin. I think it’s TTS - I ordered the XXL and it’s just right on me with a slightly fluid fit. It’s very soft, so I suspect it will pill but hope to get enough wear out of it before it’s too far gone, if that’s the case.

Of the things I tried on in the store than had just arrived I’m keeping the Zella bike shorts - they’re very soft and stretchy and I need more shorts for working out (sharing both the Plus and Misses find). The Treasure and Bond sweater is a pretty color, a very smooth knit that will be good for work. The BP plaid shirt is also soft and a bit heavier than a typical shirt. I think it can be worn as a shirt or jacket. The yellow stripe seems more pronounced in person, which I like against the black and white. All of these ran TTS, i.e. I took my most common size in all three of them.

A few things I tried on but didn’t take home.

The Caslon popover shirt is fine, but I found the neck is too high for me and the overall effect as just OK. Nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t make me happy. I tried on the XXL and it fit me fine - not roomy, but not tight. The back is very long - I often have problems finding tunics that work for my long torso and the back of this was plenty long.

The Halogen green coat is a beautiful color and I think would be gorgeous with light or dark colors; I could imagine it with olive and navy, e.g. It ran a little small compared to other coats. I’ve been a 1X in most coats in this sale and in this one I needed a 2X to fit across my hips, but that seems fair since I typically wear a 2x in pants. It’s a nice soft wool blend. I just couldn’t think of enough times I’d wear it to justify taking it home.

Out of curiosity I tried on the Barbour rain coat in size 14. I’d bought the dark green in 1X and found it was very generous. The 14 zips on me, but pulls a little bit in the hips and wouldn’t be as good for layering in the arms. So I’d say this runs large and if you’re wondering about size, choose the smaller size, or if you’re on the small side of 1X try the 14. Really pretty color!
