On my way home from a trip this past weekend, I stopped at the Woodbury Outlet Mall in New York. For those who have never been there, this is no ordinary outlet mall. In addition to all the usual suspects - Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap etc, this mall has some very high end stores as well - Burberry, Chanel, Christian Dior, Loro Piana, La Perla etc. So imagine my surprise when I see an Anne Fontaine outlet shop!!!! The prices are still too steep for me but just in case anyone was interested......

What area of NY is it? Near NYC?

Some of those designers (Loro Piana, La Perla) I've never even heard of. Just as well since I don't plan to buy any designer stuff anytime soon.

Nicole, both of those designers are Italian, the first one focuses on uber-expensive cashmere sweaters and the second one on fancy lingerie.

It's north of New York City, they have buses that run from Manhattan to it.

I've been there once back in 2000, I remember some of the high end outlet shop girls were completely snobby. I almost wanted to laugh because although it maybe designer, it's an outlet, not the boutique on 5th Avenue.

Laura, I spent VERY little time in the store and looked at one shirt that was about $180. It was a fairly large store and I saw plenty of white shirts as well as other clothing like sweaters, pants etc. Like Anna said, the sales people at some of the higher end stores there are pretty snobby and I looked like a wet dog that day. It had been pouring rain, my hair was a mess of frizz, and I was dressed for a long car ride in yoga pants and a hoodie (had not planned on stopping initially)! So as you can imagine, I did not feel all that comfortable spending too much time in the store - plus it was empty so I was the only customer. This was the only high end store I even stepped foot it in - well except for the Burberry sample sale (separate from the regular Burberry outlet) which sucked. I would say that it is worth stopping if you're ever anywhere near this outlet - it is immense though so plan on a full day!
