Oh dear, I hope this reply is in time ... I've only just signed up to the forum!
Let's see, we have a few big malls:
Briarwood Mall: Macy's, JCPenney, Sears and like a gajillion clothing stores in every age range (shopbriarwood.com)
Westgate Mall: T.J. Max
Arborland Mall: mostly shoes, although Marshall's has clothing as well
I've gotten great stuff at the Salvation Army and the 9-12 AM Kiwani's rummage sale as well - most of my day dresses are secondhand actually, and they're much nicer than anything I've been able to find new for some reason.
Everything above you can look up at maps.google.com.
If you're in Ann Arbor this week, you MUST, M-U-S-T spare a few hours for the downtown art fairs, which have been rated as among the best in the country and are pretty much the highlight of the year if you discount the football games (which, uh, I do - no offense football fans). URL: http://www.artfair.org/ for info - it runs the 16th to the 19th. Lots of artisan jewelry, and actually many clothing boutiques have stands for the fair as well.
Good places to eat: if you need a sandwich a bit cheaper than at Zingerman's (which I'm told is well worth it, but hey, I'm a graduate student :), Potbelly's and Jimmy John's are nice local chains, and there are decent burger joints everywhere. For sitdown dinners, Totoro Sushi and Real Seafood (not just seafood) are great, but you might want to wait for another trip because they're downtown and the art fairs are going to fill them up. Mediterrano is another nice place a bit further out of the way.
Wasn't sure how long you were planning on staying, so I hope that covers most of the bases.
